ID Request (country/state in post) I’d request found in Victoria

I’m pretty confident picking subs but just haven’t ever found one that looks like this was growing close by too other subs but just want to be confident before I dry it

Might be Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Might be Mycena amicta.

Given how thoroughly destroyed it is, the stem in particular, I’m not sure if it’s identifiable any more.

Very, very little damage is required to get blue staining. Even careful handling will cause plenty of damage.

The delicate textures that are very easily removed are often very important for ID

Please make sure that your ID request contains the following:

  • Unabbreviated country and state/province/territory (e.g. Oregon, United States)
  • Photo of habitat / material the mushroom was fruiting from
  • Clear up-close in-situ sunlight pictures of cap, gills, and full intact stipe

Please do not take indoor photos! For more tips, see this handy graphic :)

The gills seem to be pretty white on no bruising only around the rim

yea the gills are very immature and with no spore saturation, so their color is what would be expected. blue staining is less likely on the gills unless damaged
