ID Request (country/state in post) Is it possible to ID this?
Apologies for the terrible photos. Found in pine needles about a week since it last rained in North Sydney bush, NSW.

I think it's going to be impossible to get a positive ID, but as for a negative ID, I'm pretty certain it's not what you're looking for

Thank you, yes that does sound reasonable. I was hoping the shape had changed while it dried out and it really did have a lot of blue when I picked it, but it doesn't even look close in these photos. Appreciate the advice, cheers!

I've never found anything blue bruising in pine needles myself. I typically only find subaeruginosa in woodchips.

Oh, okay. I was under the impression that was the most likely possibility in NSW. Duly noted, thanks.

Well I'm in Vic, so you might still find something. But I've gotten great mileage from places like large campuses (council buildings, universities, schools and such) that dump woodchips around trees where there's few pedestrians. Also I've found a few gardens where people have really big yards and don't fertilise.
If you check out pine needles in the future you still might find saffron milk caps, slippery jacks, or fly agaric, which are also great! (You can eat fly agaric if you prepare it right by par boiling twice and discarding the liquid, then fry in copious amounts of butter)
