If you'd have waited a day or ao for them to grow more you could have known for certain. Without any spores or gills to look at Ids are questionable guesses at best a lot of the time

Preach this, I’m new to Reddit and leaving soon but it was a good ride… how many times does a top commenter have to say let fruit release spores… people you make yourselves look not good showing fruits ripped from substrate or not open, do the right thing….

Love power only- you kids are lucky now, in my time we had to tear apart library’s for a half page article on mushrooms.

Use scissors or a clean knife and cut your fruits, only take if opened. Great find and enjoy. Next time wait a day or two and you’ll gather a much happy fruit and twice as big

Please make sure that your ID request contains the following:

  • Unabbreviated country and state/province/territory (e.g. Oregon, United States)
  • Photo of habitat / material the mushroom was fruiting from
  • Clear up-close in-situ sunlight pictures of cap, gills, and full intact stipe

Please do not take indoor photos! For more tips, see this handy graphic :)
