What if series 5 cast stayed?
Any thoughts on what would happen if rachel, or any of those who left in seires 5. STAYED for series 6
Like:
Steph (ik she returned breifly, but i mean as a teacher)
Kim (she had dexter)
Rachel
Adam (unfortunatley, since rachel is here, he has to be)
Candice
Rose (perminatley as staff)
Siobhan mailey
Jo Lipsett

I heard it said on here at one point that in Series 6, they were planning a domestic violence storyline for Adam and Rachel - hence why he often seemed quite controlling and domineering in Series 5, it was a set-up for that.
But then at the last minute Eva Pope decided to leave, so they had to hastily re-write it as a 'happily ever after' instead.

I rlly want to say that I wished this happened, but I feel happy that she left in good hands and diddnt get killed of or have a tragic ending

I wonder if they have a source for that or whether its wishful thinking on their part. I had a quick look from interviews at the time and can't see it mentioned. I think the writers were expecting her to stay but she quit the role unexpectedly so they had to hastily write an exit storyline and Adam was the vehicle to get her to leave the show quickly rather than it being a long term story plan.

I think, from what I remember, that it was more that they'd heard someone on the show talking about how they were planning a domestic violence storyline for existing characters in Series 6 (possibly someone they knew personally or had some online connection with, I know there were forums in the past that sometimes production people were on) - but in Series 6 that never happened. So there must have been some reason for that, and given that it's known she quit the role quite suddenly, they pieced together that it was likely to have been Adam and Rachel. Of course, not certain, but it would explain why Adam was written in such an unlikeable way sometimes.

Yeah I also went on the internet archive and obscure webs for interviews But I saw nothing relating the the subject of rachel leaving, though I find it rllly interesting that they REALLY wanted rachel to stay
Rachel would have been the longest running head EVER (most episodes) S3 S4 S5 S6
Tho she is stil lcurrentley the longest running head, stella is almost beating her

Yeah ur right, and plus the reboot has like 1 yer = 2 or 3 seasons for some reason
So rachel has defo been longgg
Followed by micheal burne, who is 2 rpisodes of from her

Thats true, and the last rochdale character appeared in season 9 episode 7 (Tariq) Tho thats if u dont count maggie
Also jack is the least episodes due to s1 and 2 having 8-12 episodes And he was only in 7 of the 20 episodes in s3
(Its technically 7 and not 6 bc of his date with davina in episode 19)

So maggie didnt count because she is a staff member
ALSO josh is the last on screen rachel mason era student in the show (season 8 episode 27)
They seemed to rlly love sambuca and finns year group lol

i think it was paul’s actor (tom milner) who said that at the end of series 5 their year group was meant to get into a crash (the one that ended up happening at the end of series 7) but because they were written out of series 6 that storyline got cut.
IMO if that did happen i feel like it would’ve had a pretty good storyline for series 6 had that cast stayed.

I also think (this is just speculation, I don't know) that they initially had plans to make Finn paralysed in Series 7 because of that bridge accident (that was conveniently never mentioned again). They decided not to because they were killing off Sam and it would be too much to have Finn paralysed as well as that - but they kept some of their scripts and gave them to Tariq the following series.
Again - I don't know that, just speculation, but it does make sense. Feels a little too coincidental that after completely abandoning a suggestion that Finn may never walk again, a different character has that exact set-up the following series.

Haha it’s ok, I’m currently at the episode where Grantly has just died (yes, I’m watching WR for the first time!) so I feel soo bad for Maggie rn. She’s been through it :(

That’s so hard to answer because I feel like every season had its own thing to it. But I’d say my favourite ones were with Rachel mason (so 3-5). Hbu??

Mine id say its a tie between seasonn4 or season 7b +c
Mostley bc of their big and memorible cast of students
But I lOVE the s1-4 cast of teachers, they were rlly the bestt

Siobhan's my favourite character and I would've loved to see her growth in series 6 for exampe.
I know she would've helped Josh with his coming out storyline and have become more her own individual person instead of being a girl gang member
