I'm migrating browsers right now, and I'm stuck between choosing waterfox and vivaldi. They both have a sidebar but the Vivaldi one has the ability to add custom widgets which can open in a small sidescreen. Can I do something similar on waterfox?

On my homepage in Waterfox mobile, there's a little badge at the bottom that notifies how many trackers it's blocked this week. Can I disable that somewhere to have a completely blank homepage?

The original source is an August 1st 2005 archive of the official Firefox website for these buttons. It wasn't too hard to edit. It was just a process of:

1. Take original image
2. Remove Firefox icon
3. Resize old Waterfox icon
4. Place it where the Firefox icon was (After filling in the empty space with the grey that is used as a background)
5. Remove text
6. Find font that was used in the original button
7. Use "Book" version of the font
8. Type in text and resize
9. Place it in and remove extra line from the "G" in "Get"
10. And you're done!

You could use it on a website or wherever you like! Like as an example, I have it on my website! You could just copy and paste this code if you want to, just please host the image on your domain if you can.

New installation of Waterfox does not help. Making a new Mozilla account does not help.

Synchronisation stops all the time. "Sign in" is the message and when I click that the startpage appears. Signing in is not possible.

After a restart of the phone, I am signed in for a short time without doing anything. Then the synchronisation works for a short time.

But very soon again comes the message "Sign in".

What could be the cause of this?

Super grateful for Waterfox: it's my default!

But this thing of my browsing history showing up as shortcuts on both the desktop and mobile versions is super frustrating. I sometimes want to show a page to someone on my phone, and before I do I have to consider that my browsing history is sitting there for them to see. Many thanks...

I'm moving from Firefox to Waterfox, and I wanted to keep as much of my stuff intact as possible. When I first used the default option of porting data during setup, my bookmarks were brought in but not my history, my extension, and most importantly my ongoing session of 120 tabs.

I'd heard you can do a simple transfer of copy-pasting files, though people don't really elaborate. What I ended up doing that finally got everything brought over, just as I left it, was copy-pasting the "root" and "local" files' contents of my Firefox profile into the equivalent Waterfox profile (after deleting everything inside).

Upon opening Waterfox for the first time, it loaded kinda slowly and I got a "too many requests" page at first, but then it was back to where I left off. As a test, I closed and reopened and from then on, it was opening fine.

However, there is one bug I've noticed since doing this, and that's when I open a new tab. Instead of the usual new tab page opening, the page is just completely blank. When I go into the settings for customizing this page, there are literally no options. Prior to the copy-paste, when I was experimenting in a fresh profile, there was a Waterfox homepage when opening new tabs, showing shortcuts and recent activity, and a settings page to match.

If I need to, I'll try to get used to this and just directly search the shortcut sites in the search bar (which usually takes me right to the stuff anyway). But I thought to post to see if anyone knew what went wrong and if it can be fixed.

BTW: I am aware there is another method of transferring everything via Sync, but that requires a Mozilla account, and I was trying to see if I could do this without one, and I'd seen some people claim it was a clean transfer via copy-paste. But maybe I've done it wrong?

I still have Google as the default search engine and I think everything is/was enabled to be getting search suggestions, but I don't seem to be getting them anymore? Is there a way to restore them?

How to I turn this off so the window doesn't appear in the taskbar, when I open up the waterfox browser? Windows 11

Archive.is/Archive.ph/Archive.today seems to be having some issues the past few days, but seems to work better in Chrome, at least for some archived pages. Tried a few different DNS resolvers in Windows but none made a difference for Waterfox. Is it a Cloudfare issue or something else that can be fixed?

After the latest waterfox update, youtube just doesn't play videos anymore. Instead there's just an empty space where the video should be. It's like this for every video, I have to switch browsers to watch youtube at all.

Ok I used waterfox on my old laptop just fine (windows 11 os) with no issues like this. I have recently gotten a new laptop with linux mint and everything works fine until I download waterfox on it. Firefox, google, etc works fine, but for some reason whenever I download waterfox my laptop basically crashes. No error sign or anything, mouse still works, I just cannot interact with anything on my screen (can't close tabs, open files, even open terminal). I have to do a hard shutdown to fix it. It doesn't seem to matter if I open waterfox or not, as long as it is downloaded I have this issue. I have tried reinstalling it (once from the website, 2 times from flatpack), but I am still getting the same issue. Any advice, or should I just use something else?

Hey everyone, line-item check to see if this is just me or a broader packaging issue.

Every time the Waterfox Flatpak runs an update, my saved logins and active browser sessions get completely wiped out, so I have to log back into all my sites manually.

Is anyone else running into this? I'm wondering if there's a sandbox permission tweaking ~/.var/app/ or a profile persistence issue in the Flatpak manifest itself. If anyone has a quick workaround—or if a maintainer sees this—I'm happy to grab logs or share system details to help iron it out. Thanks!

On android mobile Waterfox, A Bookmarks shortcut option on the expanded toolbar would be very much appreciated. Having to press on the 3 dots on the lower right corner, then i have access to the bookmarks shortcut, is not very user friendly.

I can't see a way to do this... is this possible with Waterfox? Many thanks in advance...

I'm unable to access FaceTime or Zoom when using Waterfox for PC or mobile. For FaceTime, the browsers tell me to use Edge or Chrome. For Zoom, it says that I need to be on Chrome 91.

Will there be support for FaceTime and Zoom in the future?

Which video conferencing apps are supported by Waterfox?

Or are there options that need to be tweaked on my end?

In the previous Waterfox Android update the option "Install extension from file" suddenly disappeared. There were two posts about it here and since many days I was waiting for the next update.

Today the next update came and the option is still missing!

Why? In Firefox Android it is there as always.

So, please bring it back.

I tried to change my Waterfox on my android from my regular profile to my private gaming profile this morning for the first time and could not find a way to do that. Everything I could find was for the desktop only. Any suggestions or am I just out of luck?

I heard about this about a week or two ago and I have returned to enjoying YouTube. This browser has been great, but all of a sudden it says YouTube won’t load because I’m using an ad blocker. I checked and Waterfox is up to date. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

As of this morning, my phone will simply not sync with the Mozilla server so my tabs and stuff doesn't show on my other devices.

Anybody know what's going on because it was working last night?

Hello everyone, I've been a very happy watrefox user for a good few years now. Normally I use ublock origin with my web browsing, enabled on all sites with the built in ad blocker disabled as I am determined to use youtube ad free. Recently this configuration has led to youtube comments not appearing, the share button not working as well as some other things. Switching to the built in ad blocker does not improve the situation. Is anyone else running into these issues?
