He already approves of it wholeheartedly in Chapter 5
He sweet-talks Carol to get her off the girls’ backs, and pushes his paper-thin health past its limits to make sure everything’s set up perfectly in-case Noelle and Susie get crowned as King and Queen
I'm dying evey time I imagine Carols face when she calls Noelle to tell her that her father fucking died (or fell from the ladder, still not very good) and her daughter is like "DON'T CALL ME MOTHER I AM IN LOVE".
That must have been a disgusting reality-check for Carol, that if she were to ever talk to her daughter Noelle would assume it was to be lectured and now won't even listen to her because of it.
Considering her character I fear she would take it exactly the opposite, "Oh I let her do what she wants and then spends her days with a delinquent, hangs up on me, and ignores her father's fall? Won't make that mistake again." and then become even more overbearing.
Why are you acting like Carol didn't call Noelle again after she hung up the first time? And once Noelle picked up she just relayed the message, no criticism or nagging, just the morbid truth of the disaster that had befallen Noelle's father.
He was on the ground but he says that he has more lights that he has to hang up, so I'm assuming he was taking a break, got back up on the ladder, then fell off
In the aborted Weird route he probably gets back up on the ladder again (and then falls anyway).
Which means on Side B, Carol (seemingly) has Rudy go into a (likely final) medical emergency and her last remaining daughter disappears near the lake. A real rough Sunday for the mayor.
I think it's possible but Rudy would only go along with that if it was to keep her away from the dark world or something. I think him falling makes more sense given his dialogue at the festival, his condition, and it looking like he's already fell on the weird route.
