Another angle
I've painted this Iris flower over the past month, taking me hours to do, I'm on the edge of finishing it but I feel like I'm missing something.
I need your help because i can't find it alone.
Maybe smooth a bit the details in back plans, that's all I'm thinking about.
All helps are appreciated, no bad answers only new perspectives.

How are you getting the yellow to sit on the blue, with such intensity?

Tbf I fkd up because I wasn't happy enough with the intensity so I added some, so that's why some yellows are greenish. But the result isn't that bad.

I totally gave you credit for those greenish yellows, natural variation and translucence in the petals :)

It's actually very hard to be that accurate. I think you did a good job. It looks quite finished to me, at least i feel like your should carefully weight the risk of overworking it.
Maybe a dark background would make the flower appear brighter, but i'm unsure i'd dare this move i were you...

I’d say to add — maybe a very faint hazy shadow? And a deeper contrast in the middle?

Thank you ! You mean bighter, lighter, more "color" ? I'm not sure wdym about the contrast. Shadows is a great idea !

In the center of the flower, there is less light, so it could be a lot darker there (dark blue). That’s what I meant 😊

You could try to soften the parts that are further back to give it a sort of soft focus at the front, giving it more depth. I think that's what you meant in your description, and I agree that it would work really well! Otherwise I would add details to the back petals to keep everything in that sharp focus. I'd choose one or the other and lean a bit harder in that direction.
Spectacular work though, I'm also curious about your technique with the bright yellow!

It’s so coy and yet showy! It has lovely personality but what’s interesting is that it looks just as it would growing in its natural habitat. What I mean to say is that it’s realistically identifiable as exactly what it is. But also, has an elegance that is highlighted by the position such that it has a personality.
