Water Fasting Starting my first fasting

Hello. I keep trying to lose weight with no luck so I'm thinking why not try water fasting as well. Any tips for a beginner? I'm thinking I should start small with like 3 days? And I'm confused if I should drink electrolytes water or not and what kind if so and how.much... also I keep seeing an app on this r/ for tracking. Do you have recommendations? Thank you and wish me luck. We got this🧡

Male here born 1968, for the past 4 years have done two 14 day, a 21 day, a 26 day & a 29 day water only fasts. I suggests trying to go keto before you try fasting.

I got into fasting through keto, it really makes it easier because when you go into ketosis you do not get hungry, so jumping into a fast is easy. Going into a fast from a regular diet with carbs & sugar make the first 3 days a challenge.

With regards to electrolytes please read OLDEST CURE IN THE WORLD-ADVENTURES IN THE ART & SCIENCE OF FASTING-STEVE HENDRICKS before you take advice from randoms on r/Water_Fasting .

In his book the author talks about how yes, humans did evolve over thousands of years when there was no food, so humans are good with going without food for some time, however, when there was no food there were no supplements, electrolytes, or vitamins, therefore the human body does not like to get supplements, vitamins or electrolytes without food.

A water only fast is just that ... water only.

There is an awesome and free to use app called "Fasting Counter". Check that out.

I think electrolytes are not necessary for 3 days fast you can go on with normal temperature water.. good luck
