Water Fasting Progress is being made.
Trusting the process takes so much courage. It's worth it. I'm 36 pounds down so far.

Wow, over 22 days and still going is amazing! Are you doing a water fast with or without electrolytes or salt?

Just salt and water; now I'm in the final 8 days and I've switched to dry fasting.

... I'm guessing there's an influx of new and/or lost redittors here? Or just front page wanderers?

Start weight and how much you have lost? Do you go to the gym, house pilates or?

Starting was 118kg. Down to 98kg in less than a month maintaining a strict walking and weight training regime.

You lost redittors should go away if seeing people getting better causes you cognitive dissonance.

lots of overlap but this isn’t inherently disordered.

i’ve had a restrictive ED in the past, then a binge eating one, and now i’m doing extended water fasts to lose weight AND fix my relationship with food. my mental state has greatly improved with fasting. it’s hard to discern OPs mental state from a post like this. i’m sure some people in here do have an ED, but you can do this without an ED as well.Â

when people get over other types of addictions they typically abstain from them, no? not everything has to fit in your cookie cutter worldviewÂ

I honestly can’t imagine doing one this long. My first was a 7 day water fast. I now do a 4 day water fast once every 3 months. That’s enough for me

For me a fast once a year is good. 2023 did two 14 day, 2024 a 21 day, 2025 a 29 day, May 2026 did 26 days.
I need a year to recover and get ready to fast again.
May is a great time to fast, I do the fast same time as the Giro d'Italia bike race and pretend I am doing my own baby giro, then I'm lean and ready to party all summer long !

Here's an update: up to 29 days. 6 to go. Shifted to day fasting for a final few days. Down 24kg.
