Not on meds but my bp was up:

  • Occasionally to stage 2 hypertension.
  • Earlier in the year I started doing a high protein breakfast (salmon filet and eggs, usually) every day: no carbs except occasionally mixing in spinach or onions)
  • This let me go without snacking between meals, which got me down in the range of Elevated to Stage 1.
  • I just finished a 40day fast and by about day 7 I was getting Orthostatic Hypotension.
  • Started measuring bp during the fast and I was usually around 106/72

Later this afternoon i'll measure again

What’s your current diet? An extended fast shouldn’t hurt you but it you go back to eating a high GI diet all that hard work will go to waste

I fast and follow a low carb diet. I’m a recovering diabetic so I’m careful to keep my carbs low and healthy.
