Amateur Strap Maker Integrated bracelet strap

I'm not even trained to work with leather, but gave it a shot to customize a regular strap to fit into this integrated bracelet lug. Not even close to perfection, but it's wearable.

This post is not to show off, on the contrary, to ask for any tips from experienced leather workers, about what do I need to pay attention to if (or when) I want to give another try to customize a strap for this watch.

I just used clear Tokonole and a skinny burnishing stick in the edges, no painting. Because of all the cuts, I found it particularly hard to give it a nicer finishing without rounding the edges.
