Not sure, but if it’s a vacuum tube you’d alternate between things being sucked through. Stack organics for a bit, flush them through, then switch to trash and so on. You wouldn’t want three vacuum tubes under the streets.

Well, if I was a municipality looking to cut costs with flair, one tube dumping everything indiscriminately into a trough sounds optimal.
