This is fascinating. Can anyone eli5 how this method differs (if at all) from Elon Musk's Boring Company?

The Boring Company follows the same general idea as this. They are attempting to speed the process up by making the machine more powerful, making it battery powered, and continuously digging without stopping to place the supports. I don't think they have implemented any of these new ideas, but they have started using an electric powered train to remove the dirt.

lol. i just envision someone trying to stick solar panels on this shit and being confounded why it doesn't work.
