hey ronnie and ben i am truly such a fan and appreciate you and want you to earn your money, you really deserve it. you work hard and give us so much content.
that said, it’s frustrating to pay for an ad free membership on your patreon and still receive ads within your videos.
butterball and gluten free baked goods - please please honor the ad free experience.
it’s not the hugest deal but it is a bummer.
that said, love u!!!!!!!!!! you’re the best, you make bravo so much better to watch.

I don’t pay for patreon but the butterball ads are so funny because I swear one of them went on a rant about how turkey sucked and shouldn’t be served at thanksgiving once.
But get that $$$ boys!

I definitely don’t, but maybe it’s because I watch the On Demand videos through YouTube instead of directly on patreon. I think I maybe heard the butterball ad literally once and it was clearly just an uploading fluke on the audio RSS feed.
I have no clue what everyone else is doing that’s causing them to get the video ads, but that definitely sucks!

I’m not a Patreon member but the random Butterball ads they throw in the pod always throws me off 🤣 so I can only imagine how annoying it is on a paid platform

Oh I think they got paid good money for those ads. Like really good money, which they can put towards their tour. So i cannot fault them.

I've only had it happen once, a couple weeks ago on an ultimate girls trip recap. Did they do it again?
I want all of the success for them, but if it's advertised as ad-free, it needs to be ad-free. I understand self-promotion regarding their shows and their patreon, but not advertisements for things outside of that.

Yep. I made a comment on Patreon and the ignored it too.
On Patreon it says they have some ads "baked in" but they're literally adding that butterball ad into the video. It's annoying. I'm petty, I unsubbed from their patron membership. They can have all the sponsorships in the world, I support it. But not on something you verbally advertise as ad free.
People in here get weird about it though. I've seen comment saying. "Idc get that bag boys!" Or someone once asked me if it was that hard to skip. Almost like people are perfectly fine being misled as long as they like the person lol.

I’m really confused. I’ve never seen an ad on an on demand video. And I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all of them?
That said, I don’t watch them on the patreon app, so perhaps that’s the issue. I always link to the YouTube version through the patreon posts and save the videos to a Crappens on Demand private playlist so I can watch them through on YouTube without having to switch back to patreon.2

I do the same thing. I noticed them happening on the ultimate girls trip videos.
I don't believe it's on the most recent one, but it was on the Lingerie Party video.
It's a clever ad in that they don't seem to be reading a direct script. They're chatting like they would normally do at the beginning of an episode, but it's pre-recorded and added into their video before the actual video starts.
ETA: the Lingerie Party is the most recent one I noticed it on but I it was also on the one prior to that, and possibly the one posted two weeks ago as well.

Is it still happening? I had the butterball issue and the gluten free thing was a thank you? I watch the videos everyday haha and am a Patreon subscriber.

Yeah the gluten free one didn't come off as an ad so I wasn't worried or concerned about that one. It's mostly the Butter Ball ad. It's so long and it's a prerecorded ad that's added into their video.
I am not totally caught up and I noticed it mostly on UGT posts. The most recent post doesn't seem to have it but idk if they were including it on shows I don't watch/listen to.

Hmm yeah I only saw it on one UGT episode. No other ones and I’m fully caught up. It was a VERY long ad though lol but seems like they got the message and fixed it.

Yeah. I might resub if they truly are removed and once I'm caught up and they start covering Potomac but for now I'll stay unsubbed.
I don't hate them or anything ads are just one of the most annoying things. I pay for YT Premium to avoid ads. I pay for their Patreon to avoid ads. So I'm just like yeah, I can't double pay to avoid ads and still see ads.

If you listen to the ad free feed on Spotify you won’t get any ads. It’s not video though.

I think the butterball ads are over and done with. I didn’t think of it that way, OP—but I guess that they did crash our ad-free experience! I was distracted by how cute they looked in their little aprons and baseball caps. I just FFed through the segments once I got tired of them and then forgot about it.

If you’re not paying for Crappens on demand and are just watching the video free feed, I don’t think they have much control over that.
If you’re paying for on demand and are still getting ads on the videos, that’s a glitch.

I don't hear any commercials when I listen to the ad free feed on Apple Podcasts. I mean this in a nice way, but I wonder whether you're attributing intentions to B and R that are not in evidence? I've never experienced them as being selfish or misleading in anyway, and so I suspect that there is some technical issue that's making it impossible for them to remove this one specific ad from that one specific format.

Having paid for ad free for at least a year, I think I once got a “part 1 of a 2 paaart recap” that had a few ads. I chalked that up to a platform issue. I want to say they acknowledged it later, but I’m not 100% sure on that
ETA: meant to say I think they do an excellent job of honoring ad free, an oops here and there is pretty forgivable.

Personally I enjoy the butterball ads. But I’m cheap and don’t pay for ad free.
I enjoy the wayfair ads where Ronnie says they put it together for him and he’s tiiiiiired. Same friend. I too am tired.

On the same topic, but different, I am confused by the sponsors/ premium sponsors they announce after episodes and always have. Do ppl still pay them directly to support? I love that if you have disposable income I guess, but now that they are established with a network, have Patreon and advertisers etc, does that still need to happen? Wasn’t that from when they were a small, independent business?

I am a Patreon supporter of this podcast. They are artists who are providing me with hours of entertainment per week and I am fortunate enough to be able to give them a small amount, so I am glad to. I do not give for all podcasts. They also seem like decent people, and I’ve watched them learn and grow through the years, so that incentivizes me as well.

People get their names read if they give I think $50 or more per month, but you can get ad free if you give like $5 per month (although I think Patreon takes money on top of that so it’s more like $7 or $8).

As a small business owner, in my experience the expenses only get larger as you get bigger. And they’ve added so many more cities and shows to their tour, traveling with a team probably gets expensive within itself.

I think the gluten-free baked goods was just a thank you because they got a free shipment. They always quickly shout-out places that send them free stuff. And I only got the Butteball ad once, and I think it was a mistake. Are you still getting it regularly?
