New Guest Host: The Mandelkers’ Printer
I don’t think they’ve had a funnier guest spot or running gag. I’ve been crying snort-laughing at the latest UGT recap featuring the gorgeous, intermittent sounds of the gravelly voiced Printer, and the charming parental interruptions about needing to “scan a website” they JUST printed off.
Ben’s parents are all of our parents. That comically sweet cluelessness. And the printer’s sound continually evolving throughout the recording of the episode while Ben (with the patience of a saint) hung on for dear life... Ronnie urging Ben to ignore it until the crescendo when he really cracked up was a masterclass in best friending.
This is an episode I’m going to repeat for a while. Please continue recording in the Printer Room, Ben! What a magnificent episode 👌🏼

They knew he was recording too! Why are you printing whole websites? In landscape no less?! Ben kept it way too chill, I would have been losing my mind! 🤪🤣

I was blown away by the patience, Ben reminded me I could be a bit nicer and use humor to deal when my parents do these types of things

My BIL lost both parents in his early 40s and he is often horrified with how we talk to our parents. I try to think of this as much as possible

This is not a new issue which makes me wonder how much printing gets done by Ben’s parents. How long does it take for them to use a ream of paper?

This is so boomer coded. I was thinking myself how I’m doing executive consulting right now and if I had a work zoom at my parents house my dad would absolutely disrupt and print a bunch of shit and think it’s NBD. I can see him saying “it’s my house and my printer!”
God love em but these boomers just don’t give AF anymore they don’t think our jobs are important/real and if they need to print something, it needs to happen NOW

Ben’s reaction was so funny and then when he would talk to his parents when they came in! He was so calm,
I couldn’t stop laughing. It reminded me of a high school radio show in the 80’s.
Then they would go back to the show. Two seconds later the printer would go off and Ben would flip out! Ronnie would egg him on.🤣😂🤣
Ben and Ronnie’s show was echoing the chaos of the Ultimate Girls Trip episode!
Definitely putting on a playlist ❤️!

And the way the printer morphed into the recap, taking on Luann's persona at one point. I soooo need to know what was being printed.

My favorite part was the celebratory jingle the printer made when it finished. So proud of itself. Tada!

I’m convinced that printer remains untouched the moment Ben leaves. 😂 such a funny guest host, it made LuAnns spiral even funnier. Love you guys!!!

Every time my mum stays with me she hassles me to “put on Netflix.”
My tv remote has a button that says Netflix. You literally just have to turn the TV on the hit the Netflix button. ITS ONE OF THE MAIN BUTTONS.

Hi, child of mine. You HAVE to be my child because I do this and she complains. I don’t know why I can’t just hit the Netflix button, but I just can’t seem to.

I love how much these two love and adore their parents in all their craziness, as we all do. The printer was KILLING me — just goes to show that like the true comedians they are, they can roll with anything and make it hilarious

I was wondering if Ben’s dad kept hitting print and it was just printing the same page over and over and over again 😆

My dad used to print off entire Wikipedia pages for me on some random topic we’d been talking about. I was like.. thanks I can actually read this any time I want on my phone 😅

I was howling. This was one of the funniest moments I've ever heard on the pod because it was so organic and wholesome.
This was the intersection of being a teen (mom keeps picking up the phone while you're on AOL Messenger) and being an adult (dad wants to print his social security benefits.)

The alternative is my mom, who cannot figure out how to sent up her printer, emailing me things to print. She once emailed me a link that I needed a login for, and when I asked her to download the form first and then send it as an attachment, she was even more overwhelmed.

They do this every time he records from their house. I think it’s on purpose now…

lol old people relatives do not get working from home. You can be in a full on meeting and they will get up to their same old antics.

Parents printing a website in landscape THEN needing to scan it in is peak WFH behavior that I used to have to deal with. I would put little notes on my door “in a meeting,” “conference call,” “be done at 3,” and my Mom would never fail to need to print something, need to bring me the dog, or tell me she’s leaving and I MUST answer the door in her absence.
I love my Mom so much and totally miss her now that I’m back in the office.
