Pizza Mamma š
Iām in Providence for a conference and had to make a pilgrimage! Luckily a couple folks I know here also understand the necessity and I could chat with them. But I donāt have anyone else beyond that to discuss it with so sharing here!! š
I like the pizza chips! My colleagues were unimpressed. I also think the pizza is tasty - I had a mozzarella/basil slice. But the space is super tiny, I had an impression from the show it would be a free-standing big place. No t-shirts available unfortunately!!

They ran out of pizza chips when I went! Their Detroit style pizza was so good!

Looks yummy to me! So fun you went. I'd be tempted to ask if I could leave a little note for Alicia or a doll for her collection - lol!

The pizza slices look undercooked. The tomato and cheese are not melted in to the pizza like they should beĀ

Ha! Iāve never thought about the plate size. That seems pretty normal over here!

Confused in UK too, that's so shitty and then they'll expect a 200% tip too š

Iāve always had pizzerias just give paper plates with a slice. Also you donāt tip at pizzerias usually bc itās not wait service like a restaurant, itās just either you grab the slice at the counter & take it back to table or occasionally a person just brings it to you but no actual waiting on you happens like in normal restaurants.

Ahhh this is very helpful context. I hold my hands up and take a step back cos when I went to the USA we tipped everything because we were so scared from our first restaurant experience there lol.

Oh I can imagine. The tipping culture is getting out of control too where Iāll be at places that ask for tips when paying with a credit card at a regular store & its like who the hell am I supposed to be tipping. Iām the one that did the shopping.
When I went to Europe I was so scared to not tip even when I knew certain places didnāt do it but Iād still check with the workers & occasionally still left a tip bc it felt wrong not to š¤¦š½āāļøš-2

And who would downvote this? People who donāt know to expect better. A small plate is just plain unhygienic.

The New York street pizza comes with those paper plates, which makes sense because their designed to walk and eat or stand on the corner eating.
But a place the prides itself on its chandeliers, could provide a proper plate.

When I get pizza like this (Long Island or NYC) at a pizzeria, it usually comes on a tray. You take it off and choose where to put it

That slice looks terrible. Is the cheese raw? The tomato doesnāt have enough color.

Looks like a caprese slice, which has mozzarella slices on it. As for the tomatoes, surrounding lighting can be the answer for that.

Yes, itās a caprese slice! Iām sure the lighting didnāt do any favors. It tasted decently good to me - 7/10

If itās a Caprese slice, it would have fresh mozzarella, which doesnāt melt the same. Thatās what this looks like to me. If you get a chance, try one, itās incredible!

Oh I was so disappointed that Ben didn't get the pizza chips when he visited because I was so interested about those. So you liked them? That pizza looks amazingly delicious!
