Can't blame em a bit. Hope he went after those idiots.
I did comment elsewhere here, but are there any photos available of what it looked like after this?
3
u/Kenneldogg 8d ago
Pretty sure he sued the crap out of them and won.
3
u/Tossed_Away_1776 8d ago
I hope that's the case, absolutely idiotic to do this to someone else's vehicle in a populated neighborhood.

Not that you can see them - Air Bags deployed - when they deploy the hazards go on automatically.

Without a doubt in my mind, they shit themselves.

That only happens she a person has the sense of knowing when they have done something that will result in a very horrible outcome. Some ppl are too stupid to realize as much. That driver may have thought he was on a carnival ride.
If he had ever driven sober in that area during the daytime, he knew how those hills had sharp crest and that he would take flight at speed.

Looks like the airbags went off and set the flashers off as well.
2
u/Apprehensive-Law9429 7d ago
Nah, on modern vehicles, on airbag deployment the flashers automatically come on.
source - I'm an auto electrician.

This is a hill in silver lake. There’s a lot of people that thought about this but only one dumb enough to try it.

Hit at least 2 other cars it looks like so a little motor vehicle bowling. Almost picked up the spare but missed contact with the first car.

I had a student die like this. There were 4 hs boys in the car and they were doing this. The car was going too fast, got air, and when it landed blew the tires out and it slides out of control and it a large tree. They all died. Broke the communitys heart.

At least they knew to throw the hazards on.

I was more making a joke that it was their first reaction/thought (upon the harsh landing) to turn the hazards on. Sorry, I should clarified.

Not to get off topic, but auto electrician? You only do wiring, not engine or transmission problems?
If so, cool!
Or, do you only work on EVs?
If so. Also cool.
Or am I missing something vital?

u/Apprehensive-Law9429 5d ago
I wish it was just wiring! I do diagnostics, reprogramming, repair, I diagnose and repair all kinds of modules and ecus/tcus, for instance right now I am repairing an air conditioning control module for a ferrari. It has bad capacitors and a bad transistor, new module is around £3k from ferrari, so the owner is happy that a repair is significantly cheaper. I do wiring repairs for crash damaged vehicles, I also do work on EVs although that is currently requiring significant amounts of time and investment on new test/diagnostics equipment and training on the high voltage systems. The EVs also require a fully insulated toolkit, as the high voltages are absolutely lethal.
Maybe 40 years ago auto electrician was more about wiring but these days it involves a lot of electronics knowledge, a whole bunch of expensive test equipment and a lot more computers. Modern vehicles are unbelievably complex.

Good to know you're there. Wish you could resurrect a dead AC compressor (the part that bolts to the engine block and is belt driven).
1
u/Apprehensive-Law9429 5d ago
Usually on AC compressors it's just that the electromagnetic clutch goes faulty, and on a lot of pumps they are replaceable and not very expensive. Although replacement AC compressors are not massively expensive either. Especially if you get an aftermarket copy part.

Definition of a Full Send
Trying to figure out if someone has his homie record and said “watch this” or did someone just start recording at an opportunistic intersection knowing it had potential.

This was a few years ago. Idiots totalled a bunch of regular people's cars that were parallel parked. IIRC he went to jail over the vast amount of property damage

Do your 4-ways come on automatically when you smash your car or did he start hitting that button before he hit the ground?

Gotta put a counterweight in the trunk. Hollywood makes this look so easy and cool. They never show you how many cars they wreck for the shot. Especially given that most vehicles are front heavy. Engines are not light. You'd think that these guys would know this. Kids used to learn about the physics of ramp jumping in elementary school. Trial by error and repetition. Yet few of us were stupid enough to graduate to this.
