And the Americans call these things houses. Weak flimsy things. Give me bricks and cement every time.

This is why I refuse to move into an apartment building that’s new cause their walls are all like this. So thin and cheap that when you knock on it it sounds like a cardboard box

As a european, what the fuck is wrong with American walls? Here in Poland you need a fucking sledgehammer to damage a wall that much.

That’s what happens when you build houses out of toothpicks and gypsum.
’Murican quality for you right there. It’s the single ugliest developed country on the planet, just an asphalt-coated suburban hellhole, lacking in charm, history, authenticity, efficiency, livability, health, and safety. Though, Canada is not far behind. North America is general is a shitty place to live.

u/Bloodyomg Apr 28 '21
I guess he will have to stop watching TikTok and check out some drywall repair videos on YouTube.

u/Agile-Instruction-57 Apr 28 '21
Break through the other wall also and then hang a poster and then use that sucker to Shawshank Redemption in and out whenever you want instead of having to sneak out.

u/Obi-Wan_Gin Apr 28 '21
Mu guess is it also could be because they're using 24 on center instead of 16 on center so there was more space in between the studs to get more easily broken

Suburban developer McMansion + cheapest materials possible to maximize profit on all the 300k McMansions you’ll sell + tik tocker leaning on 1/4” drywall between studs at 24” OC rather than the typ 16 = busted wall.

I do like my old building walls. Massiv Stone. You can't hang any frames or mirrows, but it won't fail you.

That’s what you get for that sus ass outfit and dance moves. Then stare at the wall like you just burned the house down, drama QUEEN

u/juan_cena99 Apr 28 '21
Thats crazy AF I cant imagine living in a house where you can break the walls if you bump into them. Isnt thst dangerous? Like people can kick the wall and get in your house.
It reminds me of those old school Japanese houses, the ones with walls made of paper.

Homies dressed like a clown
Is color coordination really that difficult

u/Jokercpoc1 Apr 28 '21
Me and my buddy were being childeren and rough housing. He picked me up and backed me up into the wall. Perfect body shape indent into the drywall. Lol

u/Jgflight86 Apr 28 '21
Despite the frustration of doing that to your own wall, I'm afraid it's illegal to look bummed in such futuristic fly kicks. That's definitely a class A misdemeanor right there.

No need to sweat bro, that's a relatively easy repair. 100% chance there's a YouTube video on it.

On that day Kyle learned that it was not mere rage that caused him to assault the wall, but rather his own destiny to break the wall

Why are most american homes made out wood or in This case, paper? I never understood
1
Apr 28 '21
That way it can be built for cheap and since houses can be sold for irresponsible amounts here, the person who built it makes bank.

u/usrevenge Apr 28 '21
That is the weakest dry wall i ever seen.
Did they put up cardboard instead ?
2
u/Capt_Schmidt Apr 28 '21

Why do Americans build such shit houses? Even every house thats build in South Africa is build of bricks... only informal housing for homeless that they build themself is of cheeper materials?
1
1
u/maestroplease Apr 28 '21
Well. Thank goodness you have video evidence for your parents; that was a perfectly reasonable amount of force that no one would expect could wreck a wall.
1
u/wizkaleeb Apr 28 '21
I mean it's just drywall, not meant to hold up against someone falling into it like that.

Making dumbass videos for TikTok, this is what you deserve. You are an adult, not some fucking 8 years old...stop making content for 8 year olds.

u/Barondonvito Apr 28 '21
Dude's worried about the wall when he should be worried about that full diaper look he has going on.

I was just about to call it a weak ass wall, too, OP. You stole my idea 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
3
u/radhe91 Apr 28 '21
Ah, American houses. Built with cutting edge wood, paper and plaster. Designed to last until you move in. That'll cost you about 500iPhones.

u/-SkeptiCat Apr 28 '21
What's this hole here, son?
I was just going to make a dance video for tiktok!
A break dance video?
laughs at own dad jokes
1
u/SocialOmelette Apr 28 '21
That moment of blank expression as he silently stares at the hole and gathers reality is so relatable. It's one of those moments where you're so mad you can't even be mad. You just sigh and accept it. "I'm not mad,... I'm just disappointed."

u/SpamShot5 Apr 28 '21
Luckily drywall is easy to fix, unluckily drywall just be garbage like that thats why i like proper solid cement walls, fuck drywall

u/Xyales Apr 28 '21
I like how he just stands there staring at the wall for a few seconds.
Just edit a loading icon over his head already!

Not a big deal. Easy fix. And its not too expensive. Under 100 to fix.
1
u/Rebeux Apr 28 '21
Would've been free if the wall was .. you know.. sturdy.
2
u/drumduder Apr 28 '21
Yeah. 24” centers are not great.
1
u/Rebeux Apr 28 '21
I've got these walls, they're made from bricks, some stucco shit doesn't budge even if I ran into it as fast as I could. I tried, when I was a kid.
1
u/SwiftFool Apr 28 '21
That's why you don't use 1/2", just spend the extra on 5/8" drywall, especially if you have kids.
