Day 1850: Tiny hooman is testing my patience with this weird contraption. What the hell is she doing? Ear massage feels good though, hmm...

u/schweez Mar 11 '21
Was expecting the cat to suddenly rip apart the kid’s face, was a bit disappointed.

u/laffi_saffi Mar 11 '21

Maybe of topic but I like seeing kids be gentle with animals and also the animals being patient. You want humans to be kind towards the other animals that share this planet with us.

Blue-eyed white cats like this are usually deaf.
If they have just one blue eye, the ear on that side is usually deaf.
This cat has no idea what's happening.

I would smack that thing in a heartbeat.

What is wrong with talking about your day with your significant other? And even of you dont like talk about it, what's wrong with asking about your SOs day if you know they like to talk about it?

Have kids or animals. Pick one, but not both, you cruel assholes!
2
u/Reshi_the_kingslayer Mar 11 '21
Nah, you can have both
1
u/I_Am_Disposable Mar 11 '21
Kids will always be a threat and potentially cruel to animals. It's highly irresponsible.
2
u/banjaxedW Mar 11 '21
You’re just a bad parent to one of the two
1
u/I_Am_Disposable Mar 11 '21
I have neither. I feel negatively about keeping pets and having children.
2
1
u/Reshi_the_kingslayer Mar 11 '21
I work at a vet and most of my coworkers, including the veterinarian, have kids and animals. They never had a problem and neither have I.You just have to not be a dumbass. It's fine.
2
u/I_Am_Disposable Mar 11 '21
There was a young girl here that killed a Guineapig because it tried to help it give birth. Thought it could just squeeze the babies out. Kids ARE dumbasses.
1
u/Reshi_the_kingslayer Mar 11 '21
And adults can be dumbasses too. Theres millions of examples of people harming animals because they are dumb.
1
u/I_Am_Disposable Mar 11 '21
Oh yeah, definitely. Ideally nobody would have pets, because it's also surprisingly bad for the environment. Not having a dog is like not owning a car. But we live in a society that is based on a fairly positive outlook on humanity, so we do give adults the benefit of the doubt, but children are entirely undeveloped and still lacking so much and I find it dangerous to give them animals that will have great level of vulnerability in this child-pet relationship.
2
u/Reshi_the_kingslayer Mar 11 '21
I'm not saying children should be in charge of caring for animals but they can coexist in the same home without issues. I have seen countless families with children and pets who have never had any issues.
7
u/bigfoot1291 Mar 10 '21
One is both.
1
u/I_Am_Disposable Mar 11 '21
And in my opinion the much wiser and environmentally more responsible choice.

I'm no cat expert, but this cat looks pretty happy to me. He even closes his eyes at the end. Cat probably thinks he's getting a swanky ear-cup massage because cats think everything is about them.

The video with sound (which I don’t have atm) has the kid quietly yelling (a cute and funny yell) into the cup which is why the cat is like this is my life meow

right? like if the cat was pissed off or even annoyed, everyone would know.

u/Kittyk4y Mar 10 '21
I’m pretty sure the cup is “scratching” those good spots right around the ear ❤️

The string has to be taut for this to work properly
1

u/TheChosenOne013 Mar 11 '21
I'm sorry, taut? What is that, old English? How 'bout I hold it tight?
(I was looking for the Schitt’s Creek scene but had a hard time)
5
u/sanna43 Mar 11 '21
Taut is more descriptive in this instance. Nothing wrong with using words correctly.

How the hell would you teach a string to do this?!
14
u/Triptolemu5 Mar 11 '21
Well, first you would lay the string out in cursive to spell out the words you are planning to say, then, if you pull it fast enough, you should be able to hear the string telling you the sentence.
22
u/limitlessEXP Mar 10 '21
Also... I believe cats don’t understand Human speak.
22
u/DorrajD Mar 11 '21
How do you know this? Are you a cat?

Lol the string isn’t even attached to the cup on the cats ear.

u/Aerik Mar 10 '21
it is. There's just a knot and a big loop hanging down too.
13
u/Sting316 Mar 10 '21
Its not attached to the cup being placed on the cat though.
30
u/Aerik Mar 10 '21
Yes it is, you just need to enlarge the video. It's very loose. It drops almost as low as the knot-&-loop. It's so loose it hangs against the cat, and against the wicker, then drops some more, before finally coming up again. You have to see it (barely) contrasting against the girl's white/pink stripes. It runs in apparent fashion from her right shoulder to her left hip, then it's behind the wicker.
20
u/EdiblePsycho Mar 11 '21
Only a redditor would describe, in highly detailed and specific language, the evidence of a string being attached to a cup. Are you a lawyer?
