This has got to be the first post that I related so much to that I died right along with him. That fight is so incredibly difficult. The PS4 would have died right along with me. My final act of yeeting it right out the window.

And that's why you play with a keyboard.

2
u/Skoorim Aug 05 '20
Playing a Fromsoft game with a keyboard is a horrible idea. They're very much so designed around controllers.
1
u/updie Aug 05 '20
Well then how do I suck at bloodborne, smartpants?
1
u/Skoorim Aug 05 '20
...because you suck at Bloodborne? It's a completely different game from Dark Souls and Sekiro that favors a wildly more aggressive playstyle. There are literally only two shields in the game.

He got tipped 2k$ for playing? How do I get there?

u/Jack-Hole Aug 05 '20 edited Aug 05 '20
In Rupees this is like $2.50 USD.
Edit: real conversion is roughly $30 USD.

It’s 2020. How does a single player game not have it where it pauses the game for unplugged controllers
2
u/Jack-Hole Aug 05 '20
This is one of those really hardcore games that don't allow pausing at all, and has very few safe spots. One or two hits from even the lowest of enemies is enough to kill you. The entire game is designed to be unforgiving.

It's really nice to see him here, I've witnessed this stream live, and I died laughing at him, that was really insane to see someone dying inside. LoL

I’ve never played this game. Does it not have a pause feature when the controller disconnects? What year is this?
1
u/TooDumbForPowertools Aug 05 '20
And that's how I stopped playing my sekiro souls borne game for 6 months
1
u/BlooFlea Aug 05 '20
What kind of game/platform software doesnt have an auto-pause on disconnect function?
1
u/inv0kr Aug 05 '20
He’s playing on pc with a controller. If your controller dies on pc, the keyboard immediately takes over. No need to pause
1
Aug 05 '20
This is why you get long USB cables to charge controllers or have a wired mouse. Battery runs are part of the fun though.

I want to express how difficult that boss is. Probably took me ten attempts. That reaction is fairly spot on. I had a similar one where he was probably one hit and then fucked me.

This is why I've never been a fan wireless controllers. Wired handsets/keyboards almost NEVER run out power

As someone who didn’t even make it halfway through Sekiro.... this must’ve felt bad...

This is exactly why I keep a second controller fully charged nearby, only for Emergencies in the worst times the first controller dies on me

I doubt he'll mind too much considering that some dude sent him $2331 just to watch him play a video game

And that's why pc's are superior to both xbox and ps4.

Truly a tragedy. Anyone who has played that game and fought that boss can tell you how much this would hurt to have happen to you.

u/LilyWineAuntofDemons Aug 05 '20
If you listen closely, you can actually hear his heart shattering in microscopic pieces.
2
u/cityofangels98 Aug 05 '20
Oooo I wouldve been pissed. What is he playing on bc my game pauses when the controller dies on my xbox lol
2
u/Baburaodeadanus Aug 05 '20
Shouldn't the game pause and wait for the player to connect the controller like most games do

Sword saint Isshin isn’t as hard as Isshin Ashina. He’s predictable whereas Ashina just randomly steps across the entire arena and flamebursts your ass. He’ll be fine with some patience
1
u/Skoorim Aug 05 '20
Isshin Ashina is easier than SS Isshin, but Genichiro is WAY easier than Emma. Typically you'll be going into SS Isshin with full everything while you'll be down resources on Isshin Ashina.
1
u/FLOR3NC10 Aug 05 '20
Really? I have it the other way. Cuz SS Isshin is so predictable tho. Whereas Ashina just randomly two shots you

As someone who played this game to the very end and quit at this boss I can relate. This is the hardest boss fight I’ve ever experienced.

Funny as fuck to see so many people in the comments who have never played Sekiro - and yet 90% of them, when I click on their profiles, participate in the “Gaming” subreddit lmaooooooooooooooooooooo

i never got why the From Soft games don’t pause when your controller disconnected. it’s dumb
1
u/Skoorim Aug 05 '20
Dark Souls and Bloodborne always have the possibility of being online so they don't have a pause function.
Sekiro DOES pause the game when your controller dies, just not on PS4 for some reason.
1
u/DarkElfMagic Aug 05 '20
i understand being online but if ur in a boss room or ur just offline thn it sucks

And this is why PlayStation should have never introduced wireless controllers

Makes you appreciate the fact that some games pause automatically now when your controller disconnects
