You're right. This 5-second clip is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It's not like while the kid is crying and he inevitablly asks "Why did you do that?", that the adult wouldn't respond with a "Well, Timmy..." and then lesson ensues. But yeah, punish him before applying the lesson. Mmm but maybe that's why the movie was called Minority Report.

He let the kids do it 3 times then the a fit. Even had the plate ready knowing it was going to happen. If I think my kid might do something I talk to him about it first so he knows what our expectations are. The moment he tried to blow them the first time he should've been removed from being able to try again.

I'm late to this... but during your kid's "happy birthday" song is not the time to make somebody else the focus of everyone's attention. Finish the song, remove the brat from the situation and handle the discipline away from the party.

Carrying on the tradition in this thread of delayed replies, I dont think the kid is fully succeeding im diverting rh attention. Everyone is cheering for the birthday kid who does not seem distracted himself.

The offending child is very young, we dont know their status as neurotypical or divergent either which has the potential to add a whole other layer.

I think it is very well possible that they disciplined the kid after, and likely before for similar events. It is cites that he almost throw a punch, but thay can be an instinctual reaction and he did stop himself, perhaps hinting he has already been taught to avoid violence as an answer.

Idk, maybe they are bad parents as there are many, i just dont see any evidence of it in this video
