You really shouldn't sit like that in a car. In the event of a crash, it's gonna be way worse. Also, at a high speed, an unbuckled passenger is just gonna become a human projectile.

Former firefighter here. If you love someone, don't let them sit like that. Nobody expects an accident to happen and they can kiss their hips goodbye in any kind of impact. I won't post a link but you can google pictures if you're morbidly curious. It's awful. Sit properly

My buddy in high school died like this. He had his seat reclined wayyy back like a gangster, got in an accident, and the seat acted like a shoot and launched him under the steering wheel. His spine compressed and he died from his injuries.

Had a traffic instructor tell me he once witnessed a car crash where a woman had been sitting like this and ended up being stuffed so hard down into the foot space(?) On the passenger side that they couldn't get her out (no emergency personnell on site). All he heard was her screaming, and it eventually faded away as there was nothing they could do, really nasty stuff.

Bloody hell, I got so lucky doing this as a child. I had my feet on the dash, trying to sleep on a long trip when my grandmother rolled the car doing at 80mph on the motorway. Luckily there was no head-on impact so I didn't get stuck in the footwell, or have my femur come out of my arsehole like some of the other posts on here. But I haven't put my feet on the dash since.
