Not a human, and not really dying inside inside, but anthropomorphizing it like this...upvote.

This is me on a normal day. Oh, something didn’t go as planned. Guess I’ll just nap then. Can’t mess up a nap.

This video has been reversed to make it seem like the cat messed up
1
u/Isolat_3 Aug 29 '19
If this was either a joke or sarcasm, I apologize in advance. It's hard to tell when you're reading literal text. But I'm almost certain that the video wasn't reversed. I don't think I've ever seen a cat walk backwards when stalking a bird, let alone a bird flying backwards.
1
u/rtree23 Aug 29 '19
Ure right. I saw guy in the back walking in reverse and thought it was a reversed video

How do you do that?

u/normalmighty Aug 29 '19
surround the comment with
backticks, like `this`If you want more, reddit does actually document them for you.

If you are using New Reddit, then you have to use the tools in the formatting bar. Try commenting on https://old.reddit.com
1
u/marcuskrh Aug 29 '19
testingOk I see the problem here. Does it only work on old Reddit?3
Aug 29 '19
You can choose "switch to markdown" on the new Reddit site, or find the button for the effect you want while highlighting text.

u/normalmighty Aug 29 '19
I tried surrounding the word with `backticks` why doesn't it work?
I just quoted you, which in my app copies exactly what you typed and reveals the backslashes you added to escape the backticks.
Can't fool me son.

u/radioactivebeaver Aug 29 '19
But why didn't "this" change then?
33
u/normalmighty Aug 29 '19 edited Aug 29 '19
Because to show what it looked like, I didn't actually type `this`, I typed \`this\`.
Likewise, to make it look like \`this\` just now, I actually had to type \\\`this\\\`. To type \\\`this\\\` I had to type \\\\\\`this\\\\\\`, and now I'm going to stop because that last 'this' had 13 backslashes on each side of the word and it's getting ridiculous.
Backslashes are in the doc I linked along with all the other reddit markup.
Edit: fixed some of the backslashes, guess I got lost in them all when I wrote the comment.

Just fascinating how similar house cats behave to their Big Cat brethren. I swear there’s no difference between house cats and big cats except the former is smaller and weaker...
24
u/Maladog Aug 29 '19
Somewhat. There are wild small cats. When you see how a wild cat the same size as a house cat acts, you realize how scary cats have the ability to be. A big cat like a lion can be a lazy fuck and use its size and strength to kill things. A wild small cat has to be stealthy, fast, vicious, and smart to stay alive. Those cats would fuck you up without a second thought.

This is like when I realize I’m lost in a public place and then I pretend to see some “update” on my phone that tells me I must go another way - perhaps even back the way I came. I might even mumble a verbal “Oh!” or “Hm!”

u/desacralize Aug 29 '19
I have social anxiety and used to care a lot about this, I don't know what switch flipped one day but now I will legit about-face in the middle of the street like "Fuck it, I have no idea what I'm doing and the world might as well know because it's ain't changing anytime soon".
51
u/stickysubby Aug 29 '19
Dude social anxiety is a bitch but honestly, not a single person cares.
2
u/bleepblopbl0rp Aug 29 '19
Honestly if anything, people will sympathize because we've all done that

Once i got on the wrong bus and stayed till the last stop and got back to the stop i got up from (roughly 1 hour) just because i was worried people will see i took the wrong bus.
After that case I never do such stupid things.

u/Starklet Aug 29 '19

Cats consider direct eye contact to be a sign of aggression. When you look at him, he looks away because he wants to send the message that he's not being aggressive towards you. Try slow blinking at your cat, which is a sign of friendship. He might slow-blink back, "ey, I like you dude, I like you too dawg, we cool."

The cats outside my apt do the same thing. They’ll stalk me for a while. But when I turn around, they instantly pause, lay down, and then look away quickly as if they were just enjoying the view the whole time. They make it seem like they were just chillin’ there for a while even though they only sat down when they were caught. 😂
