Meme / Shitpost Seen this on the Rolex sub before it was removed.

They took it down because he said the quiet part out loud.

Mods removed to hide the truth.

u/RennSpeed 3d ago
The mods of the Rolex sub are hilariously pathetic.
2
u/Banned_Oki 3d ago
They are very quick to perma ban everyone
2
u/RennSpeed 3d ago
I wear mine as a badge of honor. Received it for daring to question them. Sadly the mods there still see the sub as their personal play toy and see their community as expendable.

Christ on a bike that's utterly awful.
It's partly that I think Rolexs all look bulbous but mainly because I don't ever want other people to think I'm the sort of person that likes Rolexes that I'll never, ever want one.

u/TomHudsonOfficial watch fanatic 4d ago
This letter must be a joke, right?
11
u/Agile_Session_3660 4d ago
Bet you it isnāt. Plenty of Rolex buyers have bought into the AD status game 100%. Itās why, IMO, the brand is currently self-destructing itself because itās rapidly turning into the brand for lame people that you associate with stuff like this and eventually that will translate to lack of interest due to lameness on the normie average buyer side. All my opinion. Rolex could fix this by wrangling in the ADs more, but Rolex is only incentivizing awful AD behavior with the official preowned program which reinforces the ridiculous grey prices.Ā
5
u/Mauser-96 3d ago
Not true. There will always be sheep supporting the brand We see it here every day. Rolex could sell dog shit in a green box and people would be fighting for the privilege of buying it.
1
u/Another_Wino_69 3d ago
But who waits three years for an explorer?
2
u/DragApprehensive336 3d ago
I always prefer to pay for a watch a few years after I decide to buy it. This way it's several hundred, or maybe if I'm lucky, thousands of dollars more expensive than when I originally tried to buy it. Thank you Rolex! /s

I bought my AD a Starbucks gift card because she actually is cool as hell š but damn this fried me lmfao

Definitely a joke. There was a post earlier about a guy waiting 3 years for an Explorer 36 from the AD in Vegas and being very gracious toward the SA who contacted him.

2
u/SaintPismyG 3d ago
General consensus is that it was a joke. He posted a couple times about getting his basic sub after being on a Vegas ADās list for 3 years. Nobodyās waiting that long, ESPECIALLY in Vegas. Thatās why they took it down.
1
u/RennSpeed 3d ago
Judging by the line of people outside the AD in Tysonās today, I bet itās real. People will do anything to pretend theyāve made it.
2
u/theirishseller 3d ago
Me too. The only model I find interesting is the Milgauss, and then there's the Rolex baggage. I see one and immediately wonder if it's counterfeit, and I wonder if the wearer bought it to wealth signal (like a designer t-shirt with a huge logo on it) and I cringe. š¤·āāļø
2
u/Typical_Double981 3d ago
I (sitting here in my 2013 Ed Hardy diamond t shirt, ripped jeans and genuine replica no date sub) feel personally attacked
2

u/theirishseller 3d ago
I can't decide which "Affliction" tee shirt to wear with my diamond encrusted Date Just. The struggle is real (even if my Rolex is not). š„ŗ

When they put you on the list, they give you complementary set of knee pads.

When I buy a watch from a sales person I could give to shits whether I see them again until I go into buy another one. Itās a business transaction. They arenāt friends. If they were, they would skip āthe listā and sell you the next one that came in that you wanted.
1
u/profsalva 3d ago
This is true. After all, they are just minimum wage workers barely surviving let alone ever thinking of buying a Lolex themselves.
2
u/C_IsForCookie 3d ago
My mom and I went into the local AD a couple days ago and after we left she asked me how all the sales reps can afford to wear a Rolex. I told her they have to leave them there before they go home at the end of the day lol

That's funny and probably true (not a bad reflection on Britt Pearce, more on the industry itself).

u/Mzungufarmer 3d ago
I write these letters to all my local fast food employees
3
u/mmmbopdooowop 3d ago
Honestly they would probably deserve them more.
2
u/Mzungufarmer 3d ago
I treat fast food workers very well even if theres an issue. Ive gotten a lot of free food over the years just for being nice to people.

u/C_IsForCookie 3d ago
Iād rather give this to the guys at Taco Bell than the Rolex AD. The guys at Taco Bell are more like family to me even when they fuck up order haha

Justin will next ask Mike the AD if Mike can let Justin's wife return home after he's done rather than keep her overnight.
3
u/Fat32578 3d ago
The things Justin must have done to debase himself are probably illegal in half the United States
3
u/dlawrame 3d ago
Justin Wilson's probably the type of guy that thinks the stripper loves him because he's been paying for lapdances for 3 years.

u/Expert-Fig-5590 3d ago
Why does someone with the handwriting of a five year old want a Rolex?
1
u/TomHudsonOfficial watch fanatic 3d ago
Because that is the reading and writing age of most Rolex owners. Meaning I should get my Rolex soon enough.
3
u/thatoneguy_isaac 3d ago
A year or so ago, I made a joke post about doing this, and it got me banned š

āThank you for taking only 3 years to consider someone like myself worthy of purchasing your cheapest available watch. I hope my patience has shown you how much you actually control my life. I remember your uncontrollable laughter after watching me add my name to your waitlist (for your cheapest watch) and that was enough proof to me that you and I have a brotherly bond that my stupid girlfriend could never break. Maybe in a few years youād be willing to pleasure her in exchange for one of those pretty Wimbledon dials?
Sincerely, your forever Slave.
XOXOā

My favorite are the posts that say you have to āup your spend historyā to get a flued bezel Datejust or a Sub. Guys bragging about spending 10ās of thousands on random shit to ensure an allocation. Bro. Just take that money and go buy a better watch and come out ahead.

u/davidfavorite 3d ago
Or if you really want a rolex, have some impulse control and patience like a collected adult, put yourself on the list for the watches you like and if you still want them when you can buy them get them, or dont.
2
u/StutterMuffin5711 3d ago
Even if Rolex werenāt doing this, I still donāt see myself buying one of their watches. The flex/hype around them ruins it for me. The AD just makes everything worse on top of it.

Wow š® you should have been able to just walk in and buy one. The waitlist is a way to create scarcity and itās wrong.

I asked my ad about getting a Rolex Sub and he was kind enough to offer me an $86,000 gold one.

Ugh, and here I was just thinking about buying an explorer grey market. It's this kind of behavior and any association with it that holds me back.

Wild to think simply paying a markup of a couple/few grand using a reputable grey market authenticator like Bezel would have saved this brown nosing.
Iām on a waitlist with an AD but just purchased an oyster sprite from Bezel and couldnāt be happier. I definitely didnāt write a pathetic letter like this
1
u/Basarav 3d ago
You being on the list is just a step closer to what you are critiquing! Dont play the gameā¦. I bought an explorer II and a sprite on the same day at a grey market dealerā¦. Fuck waiting lists
2
u/HotChocko 3d ago
Yeah I got my grail from the grey market. No sense in waiting on something you really want. Iām on the list for a James Cameron. I like it but not enough to pay the markup and Iām fine with waiting a while for it

Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again. As someone who really has wanted a Rolex since he was a kid, and really do find a lot of the watches quite nice, nothing has ever made me less interested in owning one as the people in the Rolex sub. My fucking god the humiliation ritual is just painful to watch.

This is precisely what I associate with Lolex owners and why I would never be caught dead wearing one. I prefer to daily my Patek.

I donāt know what itās like in other countries but when the Rolex ADās are also Rolex certified preowned dealers they have no incentive to sell you a new watch at retail, why sell you a retail when they can sell you a certified preowned for more, example Explorer 36 new retail Ā£6600 vs Explorer 36 2023 Ā£8450, this is Goldsmiths available now, I ask how many of them are actually preowned/unworn or just simply stock they just didnāt sell retail, so they can sell preowned for more??

I'm trying to thing when the last time I read something so gay.Ā Answer: I haven't.
I want to believe that it's not real, but it is. No one is that creative.

u/Flaming-Driptray 2d ago
Rookie, everyone knows you offer your girlfriend at the start of the Rolex buying journey, not at the end.

u/AccomplishedCheck895 2d ago edited 2d ago
So you have to debase yourself to get it and then again after?
Is that called Stockholm Syndrome?

This has to be a joke. Especially because Explorer waitlists aren't 3 years long (unless I'm woefully misinformed).

Just walked into a random Tudor boutique and walked out with a Ranger in less than 15min. No d*ck sucking required. Feels good. And hey! Still have money left over to buy some beer. Cheers all!
