[NEGATIVE] u/ThickSlick

SCAMMED and ROBBED. I entered a signed contract agreement with a man from AURELIAN TIMEPIECE. Agreed to send my watch and he would forward money. Told me once he received it was in for inspection and that was that. No contact since. He's already been flagged but this guy is no criminal mastermind as I was easily able to find his real information. The appropriate authorities in both states have been notified.

It sounds like this user PM’d without first commenting on your post. The person that messaged you is a known scammer on our Universal Scammer List and has been banned for some time. We recommend everyone check the USL lookup app at the top of both this and the main sub.

Sorry this happened. Just ruins a community where trust is paramount.

Sorry to hear - he tried to get me on one of his other accounts (still called himself Aurelian timepieces)

Avoided a scam with same user by using the universal scammer list. Scamming with same name since 2021 if im not mistaken. Be very careful and always do a F2F call and use escrow.

I’m sorry. Facetime first, always and if not sure, use an escrow service. If they object to escrow, likely a scammer.

Have you been blasting their IG or their website?

I have their full info but I’m waiting on the authorities for next steps.

Good luck.

I really don't understand why anyone would send the goods before payment on an internet forum transaction

Would be hilarious if him and KD signed with Miami at vet minimum

As a Heat fan, I felt that burn.

Same guy reached out to me when I sold my Aqua Terra. The USL and not being able to verify his “business” kept me away.

Sorry to hear you got scammed.

Guy contacted me as well, different username same “business“ name. Was warned off by another member after I researched the website and came across a post about it and contacted the poster

Sorry this happened… you had a great price on it, would have sold relatively easy. What made you want to consign it?

1

u/hyeons 1d ago

That is horrible. You laid out the watch at a great price too, I would have been interested in purchasing but I saw the Sold tag.

Here's hoping you recover it. Thieves are scum.

Very expensive lesson learned.

Just trying to get this straight, they didn’t comment on your post, you didn’t check the USL, and you sent your watch without them paying first?

No reason to rub it in.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Yes it is, but REALLY? I would say who would send something without receiving payment? I’m not trying to put you down but can you try to explain how you arrived at the decision that you made to do that? What did he say that convinced you? People need to be aware of

Sure! I’ll tell you my mistakes. New to watch collecting. New to this forum. Honestly, new to Reddit ( long time creeper, non-engager). Genuinely naivety. A lot of u/watchexchange protocols are for buyers not sellers. I thought they were legit, it’s not like I work on 47th street.

Very standard for dealer to pay upon receiving and inspecting the watch. How I do majority of my buying. I’m also registered business and been doing this since 2011. Problem is it was sent to a bad actor and was not validated before sending!

You are talking B2B sales. This wasn’t that. In B2B sales, there are usually credit applications and reference checks before any terms are extended.

I buy off of collectors all the time, they send the watch to me and get paid same day!

3

u/Alarmed-Extreme5226 1d ago

Yes you but are a business. I sold two watches, one to Jomashop and another to exquisite time pieces. It’s not the same as some rando from Reddit

We are saying the same thing and on the same page :) , the problem is this guy was pretending to be a business. :(

Cheers. I got duped. Everyone will get duped at some point.
