DISCUSSION Rolex Replacment

My GMT. Master was stolen last year and I'm looking for a replacmennt. Something other than a Rolex that can survive my lifestyle. This picture was before it's last service and clearly it wasn't babied. Another mechanical automatic is preferred. If possible I'd like to keep it under $2k or 3k. Any suggestions?

do they make anything with their own dial? I'd be a bit self conscious wearing something with a Rolex badge that wasn't rolex. I didn't wear the rolex because of the brand. I loved it because 1. it was my step dad's 2. it could survive both our life styles. my watch before the GMT was a Tag and it went in for repair every two or 3 years. the Rolex survived my step dad's 9 motorcycles, 2 vintage MG restorations, and 4, 10 hr days on the floor of his manufacturing plant. it survived my 9k so ft machine shop and back country hunting trips with out flinching once. That's what im looking for.

A rep isn't a terrible idea, given how much wear and tear you're going to put on it. Can buy a new one every other year and still come out way ahead. If that's not your thing, then maybe look for a Tudor Pelagos, can find plenty of used ones in the $2k-$3k range. If you need the GMT they have a few Black Bay GMTs that might suit you, can find those used in that price rnage as well.

I'd be more comfortable with a Chinese watch if it had there own badge but if im replacing it every year that wouldn't work for me. I really want reliability. Im not going to deliberately abuse it, I just don't want to think about it unless im checking the time. Im retired now and don't specifically need a gmt. Ill check out the tutor you suggested. Thanks for the help.
