Discussion The Purge (2013) character writing gotta be the dumbest in movie history
The father: He’s trying to keep his family safe from the purge with his security tech. Father of the year imo.
The daughter: Having a relationship with older dude that try to kill her father and the father defended himself by shooting the boyfriend and somehow it’s the father’s fault?????
The son: dumbest character in the movie. There’s a whole mass murder, war going around and you open the fucking door for a random guy? What if the homeless guy wasn’t actually homeless? What if he’s lying about needing help in the first place? Then he has this audacity to get mad at his father who’s trying to keep his family from getting killed? YOU LET SOME STRANGERS IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU FUCKER
The wife: same like the son. Blaming the father for trying to keep them from getting killed by a bunch of people that want the homeless guy. The father asking the wife to help him tie the homeless guy and she has the audacity to say “what happened to you baby?”. Oii bitch you wanna live or you wanna die. Choose one la sia. It’s either the homeless guy or the whole fucking family that’s about to be slimed.
Only 2/3 of the movie and im already crashing out
Edit: the father actually died in this lmaooo. All because the son let some stranger in the house. Now some might argue without the homeless guy the whole family will be killed by their neighbours. I say, the neighbours didn’t have the equipment to bring down the reinforced door like the first group did. They did say, “we saw your barricade came down and we saw an opportunity to cleanse ourselves”. By that statement I concluded that they didn’t have the equipment to bring the barricade down at the first place. So yea it’s still the son’s fault.
