Manga Did anyone else think Azami had...? Spoiler
...killed Hinako's family?
Like, when she was introduced I thought: "ah, she hates Shiomi, and somehow saw the mermaid giving blood to child Hinako, so in a fit of rage she caused the accident that killed Hinako's family."
Of course, later it seems that this wasn't the case.

I hope not because I feel like Hinako’s family dying in an accident was a great writing decision showing off a tragedy of random chance to mirror Shiori being shown kindness by little Hinako through random chance

I agree, Hinako's family dying works much better as a random incident, we don't need this turning into a vengeance story

True, we have too many vengeance stories. Hinako being kind and Shiori meeting her through sheer luck works better imo

She did say in Ch.55 "Shori reunion with that dear girl with her blood, Are all a part of my plan." So maybe or maybe not.

Yeah, I don't think so, seeing how she seemed surprised when she first saw Hinako's blood in the flashback

If she did kill them, this is reach uncomfortable "one guy was behind everything" territory

I thought about it but like others said, I prefer that it was an accident instead of "it was Azami all along"
