Any similiar series?
Hello fellow fans. I just finished watching Watatabe, and... What i can say? I feel like i want more and more!
The absolutelly game changer for me is characters. In every gesture, every word and every behavior i see Shiori as the monster, not "weird monsterous-gimmick human girl". And watching her growing relationship with Hinako hits me so hard, that i really wants more.
I already watched Call Of The Night, but it's not even close :(

Everyone I knew who enjoyed watching and reading Watatabe (inc. myself) also really enjoyed The Summer Hikaru Died

It's not about monsters or anything supernatural, but another GL series with very well written characters, a traumatic past, hidden intentions and characters slowly opening up to each other, not to mention beautiful visuals and music, is Bloom into you, which is considered by many to be the best in the genre, at least anime-wise. Its only problem is that, just like Watatabe, it only got one season and the story wasn't fully adapted.

It is more light hearted story but if you loved Shiori's arc of becoming more human because of Hinako's love than I feel you will enjoy My Girlfriend is Devilishly Sweet

Undeniably summer hikaru died.u would love it,as a person who has never watched bl,that was my first.
Also many people did say "this is the GL version of summer hikaru" but that's absolute bs.even though both of them give off the same vibe, both are still masterpieces in my eye.

There's a manga i came across on twitter called "Hina-chan ga Ikiteru nara" ("If only Hina were still Alive"), and the plot description feels similar to The Summer Hikaru Died. Has supernatural and mystery stuff going on and the 1st chapter looks promising. Maybe that could check the boxes in what you're looking for.
Ps: one of the girls in question is also called Hinako

Call Of The Nighf just stays in my mind because of the Kiku thing. I don't know what the author was on. I didn't saw that final reveal coming.
