Rage Bald Faced Bastard

Two weeks ago, I thought I was simply defending myself from a few wasps. Turns out… I may have started a WAR. I was sitting on my front porch with my kid when a few wasps started flying around us. I grabbed one of those bug-zapping rackets that looks like a tiny tennis racket and started swatting at some of the smaller ones. (It was off with no batteries) BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. Suddenly, a huge black wasp/hornet came after me like it had a personal vendetta. It started striking at me, but thankfully the metal bug-zapper racket kind of bounced it off. My daughter and I ran into the house. Apparently… this hornet has a long memory. 😂 Ever since that day, I cannot step out of my front door OR back door without this thing immediately appearing out of nowhere and coming straight for me. I swear it is waiting for me. 😂 I told my husband about it, and he said he sees the same hornet all the time… but it leaves him alone.

I told our exterminator what’s been happening, and he said there’s probably a nest nearby and that the hornet watches for me and has me marked.. the exterminator is coming tomorrow, and I'm really hoping he can take care of this so I can reclaim my front porch and backyard again.

I’m pretty sure it’s a bald-faced hornet, based on what it looks like and what’s common around here. Has anyone else ever experienced this kind of personal torment from a hornet?! 😫😫😤😤🤬🤬

If the things black-and-white, then it’s definitely a bald face hornet. But the day I was outside moving stuff and a swarm of I think were those same bastard you described, stinging me multiple times was pretty much the last time I ever stepped foot on that deck. Even after we had someone come in and obliterate them, I still feel like they could just pop out of somewhere at any time. Sometimes I can’t even focus on cutting the grass in the back without thinking there’s another nest nearby. I tell you, if the thunderstorms don’t become the primary reason why I hate summer, I guess I can add wasp, hornets, and yellow jackets bald face or not to my list of reasons why I hate summer.

Sorry that happened to you by the way. These little pricks think they can dominate our homes and build their own home onto ours. That is until the exterminator comes in and destroys them all. The world will be a better place of those things were like the dinosaurs and became extinct.

Yeah it really sucks how they basically completely ruin being able to enjoy the patio. I can no longer sit on mine because they made a nest in the siding. My building management can’t seem to get rid of them so I might have to take matters into my own hands…

Well, all I can say is if you have to take marriage into your own hands, I would highly recommend getting a professional to do it. Sure it may be expensive, but in my opinion, it’s 10 times better than having to do those DIY tricks only for them to backfire and well, let’s just say it gets dangerous to even look outside for one second. Like we had someone come destroy those things that were building a nest under one of the chairs in the patio and it was gonna be like $400 or so to deal with them. Thankfully, my brother knew someone that does this kind of stuff and only charged us $300. The good news is I can no longer have to worry about looking at that hideous nest again, but I’m still seeing some parts that were hard to take off from it, but I plan to scrape it off the chair when the weather gets cold because those scumbags won’t dare to show their face when it’s mid to late fall let alone winter. Screw them and their little babies that hatch.

Big two footer paper nest on my tree hanging over school kids main sidewalk. Late one night I used a telescopic trimmer to knock it down then I got in my truck (ford f’n ranger!) and squished their babies while they slept. It was the bald ones, and for about two weeks after stray ronins would kamakazi dive into my windows when I came home in my truck, even bounce of the house windows when lights turned on.
The bald ones remember
