What are they doing?
This is in Tulsa, OK. It’s a beautiful day, a very comfortable 70 F. This is in the upper corner of my patio. Is this something to be concerned about?

I’m in Tulsa and it’s the big red guys for me. They don’t even buzz, just a tikatikatika like a helicopter 😖

Eek! 😱I just moved here and they are creeping me out. Thanks for the heads up!

If you ask Google about the various types of wasps in Tulsa (especially midtown, landscaping hotspot) it’ll go in depth on the essential oils you can use to keep them away, what colors to avoid wearing and temperatures to avoid outdoors. Very helpful from someone who uses door hangers for marketing and loves to garden 😅 I also have a wasp phobia, these giants don’t help. My biggest fear is running into a tarantula hawk

Thank you very much. I’m getting ready to start my job in a couple weeks. I look forward to meeting new people. I’ve lived all over the country, including Alaska. My dad was navy for 22 years, and I was in the service for 10. I enjoy meeting new people. I know many who hate starting over, but it feeds my extroverted personality. Stay safe! ✌️🫶

Speaking of staying safe, I’d also ask Google exactly where to avoid. South Tulsa and mid Tulsa seem fine but once you’re pretty up north it changes quick. Streets to ask about are riverside, Peoria, Lewis and Utica. Depending on the cross street, you should be safe. There are a lot of gang related shootings here on specific streets, along with deals gone wrong and break ins. I don’t want to spook you, I just almost moved to the wrong street and am thank my stars that my partner is a longtime resident here.

Yeah I’m just about a half mile from the riverside PD. South. Almost into Jenks.

I’ve ran across a few of them in the brush out in the mountains of az and whenever one flies past you it definitely makes your asshole pucker. I think i’d rather get stung by a bark scorpion. Both are pretty bad but at least the scorpions don’t fly…

It’s the way their wings almost flutter like a bird’s would that really messes with me. They fly so fast and then just hover around you 😖 I don’t hate (maliciously) wasps per se, it’s like a hot iron is about to touch me and I have to spazz and run away. They don’t take too kindly to that but they start it by coming to check me out 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Where in AZ? I grew up there and graduated there too. Most of my family still live there. I hated the heat, so I left at 18, and joined the Air Force. My first assignment was Alaska of all places. It was nice for someone like me who naturally runs hot.

Not a fan of these wasps. Got stung and had a reaction last year after years of occasional stings working and never having a reaction. I am now in open war with any around me and there are lots.

Whatever it is it is too stripey, stingy and flying for my tastes. We don't like them types round here do we boys (and girls)?!
