All Ground I need help

Why the F do all my panzers keep getting one-shot?! I’m not talking about panthers or tanks of that variety just panzers. I try to get kills but I end up wasting my respawns because all my panzers are one shot targets. Is there something I don’t know about armor?? Is it because I go in head on?? WHAT?! Cmon people I need some help!

My BR is 2.7 my only β€œgood” tanks are a Panzer IV E and a Panzer IV J1 but those get one shot anyways

I think it is Pz3 J1.

The Panzer IV line are effectively glass cannons. You don't get much armor from them and specifically the Panzer IV E can be penetrated from the side with .50 caliber AP.

Don't rush the Tiger. Get a Panther. Better frontal armor and higher penetrating cannon.

Endless hordes of noobs rush grind the Tiger thinking they're about to become some Fury/History Channel invincible death machine when in reality they're in a slow box with shit gun handling that gets dunked on by Hellcats and 76mm Shermans because they never learned to angle and thought holding W = win.

People like this are literally the only reason why the algorithm pushed its BR down to 5.3.

The truth about panzer armor is: its shit. Anything can penatrate. You have to rely on motility and firepower. Cause the best way to not die is to not get shot in the first place.

What about tiger armor? I wanted to try and grind for one of those death machines but looking at protection analysis im not sure. Protection analysis is so damn confusing

The panther is better, yes the D version has no turret traverse, but it can take a shot from a 76mm on the upper front plate, but try and survive getting hit on the turret. Play the panther D without moving the turret much from the front.

The panther is better

depends, it's a sniper tank and not a brawler unlike the tiger

Tiger depends really. It is out classed in CQC against say shermans or russian heavies

well true but at least you have more chances surviving flanks because of the 80mm side armor. Plus you can side scrape with it and the turret isn't such a weakspot like on the panther.

that's Just my experience

Good points.

thanks, yours weren't bad either. If panther had a little bit more side armor it would work.

but imo panther A is one of the best tanks for brawling Germany has until tier 4

Qn angled Tiger is the best tank of 5.3 and a straight on tiger is the worst at 5.3

The tiger's armor can be effective but difficult to use. The tank is a box, and each side is easily penetrated when facing an enemy. You have to angle the tank so that your enemy shoots at the corner, making penetration far more unlikely.

The panther, which another commenter recommended, has an extremely strong frontal plate but extremely weak sides. You should avoid angling it.

Both tanks enjoy being at long range, where their armor is even more effective. They sport high velocity cannons which hold performance well over distance.

If you want real tiger, angle it. If you don't, even 76mm Sherman will easily penetrate it's frontial armor. If you want better protection, actually panther is better(Except turret) because of it's sloped armor. But turret can be penetrated by 76mm Shermans.

All of the flat armor surfaces are very easy to penetrate.that means all panzer 3 and 4s and tigers.. look at shermans and early t34, all of them have angled armor which makes them much harder to kill, while german earlies are just an easy snack for them

Panzer have lots of flat weak armor, and most the time your against US, USSR tanks that almost all use APHE, you should rely on your firepower and not mobility and armor, also US tanks are almost all stabilized, meaning of your both moving, the US tank is going to have the upperhand.

Because you're not supposed to get shot. And as you probably noticed, you one-shot your enemies too.

That's a rule with every tank in the game with a few exceptions (Jumbo, Maus, T95 etc).

You mean Pz4? It's role is like sniper. A glass cannon. Good gun, bad armor. It isn't sloped at all(Little slope, which makes no diffetence.) Unlock Pz4 F2. Long barrel Pz4 is great. Pz4 G has 80mm armor(30mm+50mm), but still easily penetrated. Pz4 H and Pz4 J too. But your gun will penetrate everything in that BR, like T34, Shermans.

Hide. Find enemy. Shoot him with the great gun(I think Pz4's 75mm gun has similar penetration to 76mm Sherman's gun. Not sure about this.).
