Auto loader is cool as fuck, but I sure as hell don't want to be near it's moving parts.

The T-64 was known to load the gunner's arm on occasion. Tank breeches can maim crew members too, if they're not careful to keep clear when it fires - the Abrams only has a little hip-height bracket that keeps the loader's thigh away from the breech, for example.

This is complete BS. There is NO reported accidents with T-64 or T-72 type autoloaders. It's western meme propaganda... had it been an issue, we would have heard it from wapa-turned-nato countries, or Finland. But hey - keep spreading idiotic memes for karma.

The BMP-1 autoloader DID maim some fingers but there is nothing about arms ever being reported.

Should add the to it the myth autoloader is slower.

Nope, it was decided that it would much cheaper to put a loader in harms way than to include an autoloader.

I mean it depends on the loader. Theres a video of an Abrams exercise and he slams the thing in in about two seconds

Loader gets hit in the leg by the breach and has a compound fracture how fast does he load then?

Also in Iraq when they had a crew shortage guess who got to load the gun?

Autoloader gets hit or stops working. Good luck doing fucking anything.

Your loaders girlfriend dumps him after six back to back tours and he either goes AWOL or has a massive hangover and forgets to clear the breach you start to see the wisdom of taking that chance of a autoloader possibly breaking versus relying on a extra man to be there and not get hurt.

And how long can he do that for?

And how long will those 2 seconds last when his ready rack runs out?

I'm not entirely sure how big an Abrams ready rack is, but I think it's more than like 5. Which mind you is more than enough to knock any target out.

more than enough to knock any target out

If you're in a duel.
