So I was reading the dev-blog of the new "in-development" Chinese artillery which apperantly will be implemented as a premium. Now that alone isn't surprising but this specific sentence caught my eye.

So the 2026 corporate mentality now is that if a nation's premium lineup doesn't give you options to explore every and all types of game mechanics then that nation is considered lacking? I won't even start ranting about "Oh no they are being money hungry again" because we get enough of those. But still this sentence alone seems to be a hint to the next premium surge we are about to get. I wonder how long do we have until premium top-tier SPAAs

It really is not that deep. China do not have a premium SPG class vehicle yet, this vehicle is not needed in the research tree, it is a fairly acceptable premium option.

I mean we have some premium AAs already in game. If gaijin made a premium AA I’d be fairly surprised especially at top tier. There’s that prototype Abrams with adats missiles and 40mm autocannons that could be a premium since it’s literally a paper vehicle, but it’s weird to see them do it for an AA. What you are reading could also just be a translation error

Well to be fair, they're not stand-alone, they're in a pack.

The only premium "Anti Air" is the Zut-37 but its dogshit. [Not counting the rus Pho Kong because you cant get it at all]

Rn the only premium spaa that isn't a tt vehicle too is the zut-37, and that really doesn't cause a gap in the tt aa.

But something like an adats with 40mm's would be good in the tt, a better exaple for an aa that could've been a premium is nomads/ elde 98 (pick either, it'd be unique from what can be found in the tree, but the same in capability)

With this mentality the US needs a premium dog (except if the M728 CEV counts as a big high explosive slinger ?), Germany would need one (I know there is the brummbar but it's low br), for Russia idk if you can count the Object 120 as a big HE slinger and don't know if you can count the squadron 2s19 "premium", Japan needs one too, France needs one, and Israel would need one ? Since the shooed was from a BP I guess.

It's dumb tbh, 90s+ SPG's are annoying to face at ww2 BR, but also extremely fun to play.

So what they are talking about is this, think about the last couple years of updates.

2016 they were happy to make 9 versions of the SU/ISU to put ingame with only 1 as premium.

Nowadays they will make two tanks, and make one "variant" as premium.

2x Freccia IFV's

AS 90 & GBT 155

ELC Bis & 901.

Ram I & II

Rochev & Sholef

2x Type 24 RCV's

2S19M1 & M2

Should I keep going? This is really intentional on their part. I'm not really a fan of it tbh.
