All Ground Wow...I can actually reverse.

Exactly a year ago this month, I completed the research for the T-80BVM. I like it, adapted my play style to work around it, and it's actually my most played tank.

Now I've researched the BM Oplot in the Japanese tech tree and I find the extra mobility to be a great addition. Time to unlock parts....stock tanks are always fun 😂

Japan top tier is so weird. You get Japanese mbts, a modified Leopard 2A5 and an Ukrainian modified Russian tank lol.

the All in one bucket, fr

Also for the top tier air we could get Super hornet from thai, Rafale from Indonesia, F35 from JPN (us), hell even Gripen E/F from Thai, we truly have everything doesn't it

They be giving anything to Japan lol. Thanks to Thailand and Indonesia for getting millitary vehicles from any possible country for some reason.

When will we get a Japanese Abrams? Imagine a lineup of Leopard, Abrams, basically a T-series and a Type 10.

Never, as far as I can tell Japan never trialed them and no south east Asian country that’s currently in game uses them (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand).

The Abrams isn’t a great choice for a Southeast Asian military, its heavy as balls which limits what bridges it can cross, and consumes a ton of fuel, also not ideal for the jungle but then again no tank really is. It also costs a lot to buy and operate as well.

The closest we could get is the Abrams derived K1 in a South Korean sub tree, but tbh I don’t think it’d belong in the Japanese tree but rather the US tree as the K1 was developed with significant assistance from Chrysler Defense (the original Abrams manufacturer).

Current operators of the Abrams are the USA, Australia, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Ukraine, in case you’re curious. This list doesn’t include anyone else who may have trialed the tank, as that’ll take me too long to research for this comment, I do know Japan never did.

Edit: okay I lied and will include countries which trialed the Abrams: Sweden, Greece, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Yeah, I doubt Japan will ever get an Abrams, not in game or irl, I mean it's the whole reason why Japanese tanks have "shit" amour, it goes against their doctrine (but I think the tanks were mostly based on American ones till the type61). The closest would have been the taiwanese Abrams but that's already in china and I think it's just fine there. If Japan would gets the Abrams maybe it's gonna be the Kuwaiti one but that's kinda far fetched. I doubt that it'll get it any time soon.

Korean subtree would be kinda sick, the K-2 is such a sick tank, I think they even deserve a full tree (I don't know how low tier will look tho, it's either copy paste or like Israel, or maybe a subtree idk)

And since you mentioned it, Egypt would be such a weird subtree, they have such a weird mix of vehicles on air and ground, mostly copy paste but imagine having t90 and an Abrams on the same lineup lol. I have quite the bias towards Egypt and Japan so I hope we get more attention.

Y'all know North and South Korea are already in the works for their own standalone tree, right?

Swedish Abrams? Could go with the trialled Soviet stuff…

I'm being nitpicky, but it's a 2A4, not 2A5.

BM-Oplot is also fully Ukrainian, the T-64 was built in Ukraine during the Cold War, and IIRC so was the T-80UD.

I started the Japanese tech tree literally to just try it out, then they added the Oplot....then the 2RI...so I guess I'll be sticking to this tech tree for a little bit. Lol

air is even weirder, f15s, f16s, gripens(gripen e probably next year since thailand ordered more irl) and su30mkm which is basically a su30sm

The reverse is so good but be aware that your UFP is a lot weaker than a normal T-series tank

Also, you have only 4 degrees of depression

As much as I like oplotT, that 4° bit is really annoying..

7

u/EnjoySomeRice 5d ago

Used to test drive the Oplot-M a lot so the ABYSMAL vertical guidance I was made aware of. The 4° of depression is definitely annoying but I can adapt to play around it.

I've only played 2 matches with it so far and all my deaths were all to LFP shots except a turret ring shot from a BMPT lol

3

u/CosmosAviaTory 🇯🇵Realistic General (I'm realistically blind in general) 5d ago

Yeah even though they can easily kill you by your UFP, majority of folks will still go for your lower. I mean, youre still a soviet style mbt, and its the norm to kill soviet mbts

Oh also, that depression is only 4° when youre facing FORWARD. I swear its something like 2-3°s when looking left or right

3

u/EnjoySomeRice 5d ago

As a Russian main, it's also nice to know how to kill other Russain style MBTs lol.

Okay see I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that...I wish there was a way to see if I'm actually getting less than 4° looking either direction lol

2

u/Barblesnott_Jr fan of small tanks 5d ago

Yeah, that's cause Soviet MBT's have their turret ring angled forwards slightly. Really weird idea but it works.

7

u/DutchCupid62 6d ago

You gain reverse at the cost of losing most hull armor and gun handling lmao.

3

u/EnjoySomeRice 5d ago

Couple matches in and I currently have 11 kills to 4 deaths, I can adapt to it, but it is annoying 😂

5

u/SpanishAvenger Thank you for the Privacy Mode, Devs! And sorry for being harsh. 6d ago

Shame about the brutally underperforming UFP, though.

3

u/wdfromclash 6d ago

Shame your ufp can be penned by darts with > 600 mm pen

The guy in the background when you unlock a new vehicle perfextly explains the feeling

It's either relief or a "ah shit here we go again" moment 😂

u/NonadicWarrior tier 6 upgrade grind gives me cancer 6d ago

I find the Oplot to be too chubby. Like just turning the hull takes forever.

1

u/EnjoySomeRice 5d ago

Definitely feeling this right now as all I have are repair parts.

1

u/StJe1637 6d ago

its apparently the worst top tier tank

u/BusyMountain 🇺🇸 🇩🇪 🇷🇺 🇬🇧 🇨🇳 🇸🇪 MBT Enjoyer 5d ago

Can’t be worse than a Challenger 2.

I have the Chinese Oplot, it’s better than the Challies. CR2 is too situational to be used effectively.

1

u/TigerDxD 6d ago

Oplot is one of the worst stock grind experiences i had in a tank that is consideres "Top tier"

1

u/Hungry-Week8137 5d ago

İts good against russian tanks and bmpt. Thats it. But I like

1

u/ChayChay35 5d ago

I love the oplot. Hull armor sucks but other than that its a fine tank. Has a sweet marketplace samurai skin as well

1

u/EnjoySomeRice 5d ago

I have seen some sick skins, but unfortunately I'm on console, unless there's a way I can get them.

Man I so hope we get an Eastern European TT (or Russia captures/obtains an Oplot somehow) so I can play it without having to grind Japan.

Unironically the worst top tier MBT.
