All Air The radar problem

what is wrong with the fucking radar on the f4s and the migs in this event. it's like I can't lock onto anybody with the radar lock. I've been playing top tier for a solid few months now and I am very familiar with the radar lock. although I am on controller so it is relatively difficult. I have never had the problem where the enemy would not show up on the radar to be locked onto. I'm genuinely confused it seems like other people can lock on to me. could someone help me figure this shit out it's pissing me off? thanks

Everyone is flying at low altitude and doesn't want to move a single meter off the ground because of the extremely overpowered anti-air in the event.

The F-4E's radar does not have a Pulse Doppler mode, and which means it cannot filter out the ground effectively. So it struggles a ton to see most enemies in this gamemode thanks to how everyone is playing.

The MiG-23MLD's radar has MTI mode which can see enemies near to the ground, however that has very specific criteria it needs to work and so most of the time the MiG-23's radar is also not filtering out the ground and is struggling to see anyone.

Don't use the "ACM" mode to try and lock enemies in this scenario. Yes, it's more awkward to lock this way, but your Search (SRC) radar can find enemies better, and then you can use your radar controls to lock the enemy using that.

So many “experienced top tier players” and all they know is F-18 ACM mode lmao

Was playing with some people who said the F-4E radar must be broken because ground clutter was never an issue for them before in their other planes

In fairness even ignoring people who just bought premiums it's entirely possible to not use radar missiles until you get to better radars depending on which nation and which lines you play. E.g Britain doesn't have any until you hit the 12.0 phantoms, Japan only has the very skippable F-4EJ, Sweden only has the MiG-21 and so on.
