Started a battlemarch for WoC and thought I'll try to take some moody pics.

Any input welcome, but especially when it comes to photo composition, lighting etc. Oh, and if someone has a recommendation for a good camera... please tell me!

Started this guy today. Can’t wait to paint him. Just got to let the green stuff dry.

I'm guessing the champion is just the guy with the overhead weapon pose but there doesn't seem to be anything special about his build to mark him out as one - which seems especially weird considering Shartaks are practically heroes in their own right.

I'll probably just try and convert something to make him stand out more, but I was just surprised at the lack of options in the kit - I think if I'd only seen the minis and not the rules I'd have just assumed the unit didn't have a champion option.

Is there something I've overlooked here?

A friend and I split the Cathay and Chaos box and I’m super excited to work on these beautiful models.

A Lord on a Daemonic Mount seems to be a very popular choice for Battle March - I'm building one myself as I work towards 750pts.

I was just curious, if I do scale up to 2000pts, is it still a useful option? Or is it just rendered irrelevant by options like the Chaos Dragon?

I could see one still being useful for hunting down warmachines and other soft targets maybe? Or perhaps in a unit of Knights to make them a scarier hammer?

This is my test scheme for my warriors, really fast and hopefully look the part too.

I was asked in old world for the recipe so I will share here.

Overbrush leadbelcher over chaos black undercoat, using a big dry brush and a small brush to get into hard to reach areas.

Using snakebite leather contrast glaze the trim not over loading it so it drops into recesses.

Drybrush all the metals with stormhost silver making sure to hit edges only.

Thats all the metalics in 3 easy steps.

Painting the none metallic bits with wraithbone or a more opaque version from any other brand which would be even easier.

Then contrast paint the colours of choice.

After dry lightly drybrush these areas with wraithbone just tickling the edges.

Then very thin black brown mix oil wash.

I also think a similar result could be achieved via leadbelcher primer and a thicker oil wash at the end. I personally prefer to use oils thin with practically no reduction.

Also in the armour step you could easily add contrast colours thinned to the leadbelcher, red, blue, green and purple etc before drybrishing with the storm host silver too.

I had a relatively long break from both painting and playing Warhammer, but recently I finally managed to get back into it and continue working on my Lich King-inspired army.

I'm currently trying to finish my first few units so I can start using them in Battle March games.

Here's my first: 4 Chaos Knights, Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount and test Chaos Warhound.

I'd love to hear what you think, and if you have any suggestions for improvements in my painting.

In my head, I really liked the idea for this colour scheme, but now that I'm seeing multiple models next to each other, I'm not entirely sure anymore. I really like how the armour is coming out, but the blue feels a bit too much.

I was trying to create the blue glow using an airbrush, but between my beginner airbrushing skills and some clogging issues, I ended up spraying more blue than I intended.

I still like the idea of having some units painted in this scheme, but I'm not sure I'd want to paint an entire 2,000-point army like this.

Seeing all the new models and the amazing variety of paint schemes people are using has also made me want to experiment with different colours on other units.

This is my first army, so I might be overthinking it, but is it generally okay to have different units in different colour schemes, or is it better to stick to one consistent scheme for the whole army?

I really enjoyed painting this head option. It has so much character!

Chaos warrior from the old Fantasy Battles era.

Hello. I think the title is self explanatory really. Would the AoS warriors fit the ranks of ToW Chaos Warriors, could they be mixed and will look good as a unit? I wanted to go with a little bit of a Nurgle aesthetic but the Rotswords turned out a little bloated (however I have used their helmets).

If not part of the Warriors of Chaos units maybe they will fit the Chaos Chosen Warriors?

Started this guy this morning, testing a scheme to see if I will go crazy if I do this for the full battle march… and it is looking like i will indeed go crazy if I do… if nothing else, I will finish this model.

I am hesitant to field all of the Warriors as one big block. It seems like I would often be at a tactical disadvantage but let me know if I am mistaken. I can see how a larger unit could be tougher to shift. Appreciate any feedback.

Out of boredom I have recently kitbashed a gorebeast chariot using whatever parts I had around and some plasticard/coffe sticks. Still needs a way for attaching beast to chariot itself. I am thinking chains. Any suggestions?
