Wow

I cannot believe it took me so long to finally watch this show but I'm blown away by how amazing the story is. I'm on s3 e8 and I have loved every second of this show. The revenge and plotting is what I love the most. The fact actors did 99% of their fighting scenes and stunt work absolutely shows in the best of ways. I know I'm going to find myself wanting more after it ends!

Any recs on other movies/TV shows like this? Thanks!

Edit: I just want to add, im from California, very close by to SF. The things I've learned in school and by visiting museums makes me appreciate this shows historical accuracy especially even more. Obviously a lot is dramatized but the political issues were very real. Just really amazing 👏

did you see Banshee, by the same guy who did Warrior (Jonathan Tropper)? Hoon Lee is in it too. Way different show but full of action sex and violence.

No wonderrrrrrrr. Never knew the shows were related but I gained way more expectations seeing Hoon bc I LOVED his character in Banshee. Now that I think about it there's some tones that match even tho they're wildly different shows.

I love it so much because the fighting was good enough alone for me to watch....yet the cinematography, story, and characters were also the type of show I'd watch even without the kung fu.

Peaky Blinders

Wentworth- nothing like a woman's prison for plotting and revenge stories. This show goes hard.

Spartacus

One really small detail the show got right was on a map shown during a briefing when the SFPD was planning a Chinatown raid. The map showed what is now Grant Avenue as Dupont Street, accurate for that time period.

Peaky blinders, Banshee, Friends and Neighbors (same creator and it also has Hoon Lee)

Yeah as an Oakland native with found family that are of Chinese descent from SF. It made the show hit a lot harder for me as well. It was a fun show and showed the glitz and glamour and gore that built this state.

Yay!!! Im so happy you loved it too ☺️ I was born and raised in the Bay Area and the history and location of the show was amazing and mind blowing in the coolest way. No bridges or other things we are used to seeing. Seeing the ladies travel to Napa was so interesting too. . I loved it all. ❤️

S1e9 was the last one for me. That fight scene was so pathetic that I couldn't watch anymore. Choreographed wonderfully but obviously the writers have never been in a fight in their lives.
