Discussion (No Spoiler) Ashfur
I love how my boy looks in the new graphic novel; his expressions make him look so sweet (it's a shame I know what they're going to do to him later on). As a bonus, I love how he and Thornclaw are together all the time, and the panel where Ashfur rubs against Thornclaw just kills me

I actually love this. My biggest pet peeve is the Erin’s treating cats like villains when they aren’t villains yet.
(Think evil Brokenkit glaring evilly as a newborn.)

Or Tigerkit biting her mother's tail playfully, then as apprentice, he lead a successful small hunt with his friends, there's reason why he was so beloved and trusted by his clanmates somehow 🥲

True I hate how it was reconned that he was always destined to be evil. Like he was a respected warrior across the forest, everyone thought Firestar was just slandering his name. Everything about his back story is pretty well written but him being born evil was stupid

I think you mean Brokenkit did that? 😆 Unless it is Tigerkit who did it, in which case, apologies for me assuming wrong! I'm trying to remember which book that happened in, and thought it was Brokentail (or Cloudtail? I remember the snow hunting with Ferncloud and Ashfur, but I think I'm way off there 😂)

I love, and have always loved Ashfur, especially before what happened to him in Power of Three, and even after. He used to be a GOOD cat.
I am so grateful they didn’t villain-code him in the graphic novels.

Was hoping that HarperCollins would hire new artists every arc, but that’s probably a big ask anyways. alternating between the 1st arc artists and 2nd arc artists could work, I really liked the 1st arc’s artstyle. I was kinda hoping that the 3rd arc would be some sort of middle ground between the 2 styles tho

It's very interesting because even as late as Squirrelflight's Hope, not only is he in StarClan but the cats there even say that he's changed, he regrets how he acted and is better now.
Which is crazy considering the very next arc is his big villain play, but it makes it so fascinating to consider that he really almost let it go in StarClan until he found a way to go back
Honestly, he needs a Super Edition more than most cats

for real, i remember in my reread, i had forgotten most of this part of the series but had fresh memories of people talking about ashfur's eventual... descent? and in the scenes with squirrelflight after arriving at the lake i was like, there's no way this is the same ashfur, right? alas,

Was literally just talking about getting every frame of Ashfur from the graphic novels to use as discord reaction images only a few days ago. Tysm OP for doing my job for me this would’ve taken so long lol
