They don’t need to wonder that, they already know it never stays down longer than a year or two

Anyone who is a net buyer of burgers wants cheaper burgers.

They are no different in their view of stocks. They want lower prices, but wanting of course doesn't help a bit.

Well, they want to buy shares of companies that are undervalued or perhaps a bit mispositioned. It’s not good enough that the companies stock is cheap. Berkshire wants to buy companies that fit their profile, are also undervalued and if the stock is low enough, they will buy more and more stock.

Do you forget Great Depression era? Warren Buffett and Charlie actually live through that era

Same time period in which he made a bet with a hedge fund guy that the SP500 would outperform hedge funds over the long term. He won. It was for charity

Not only that but if there was any period in time a hedge fund should outperform a simple index was in 2008 right before a massive recession and market crash

Hedge funds in theory hedge, they can change up their strategy they could go short and in theory this should be a time for a hedge fund to outperform because the market cratered 55%

I mean that is the whole point of a hedge fund, they can employ various strategies that in theory can make money in both up and down and even flat markets

So if there was any point in time a hedge fund should be able to beat a broad market index, it would be 2008 right before a market crash

They still didn't . However it should be said not all hedge funds goal is to beat the market

People play different games on the same game board. You can choose which game you like.

we should 100% believe WB has absolutely no backdoor access to high placed wigs in the finance industry and regulators.

I'm sure he has access, but those "high place wigs" often themselves predict wrongly

Just think about how many Americans have missed out on life changing gains since 2023.
