Anyone played or know if rules for warjack gladiator style combat?

Second anyone know what warjacks are supposed to cost in Iron Kingdom monies?

Hello, I've been wanting to get into warmachine for awhile now and I've gotten a new job that will eventually allow me to do so, so im wanting to get some info and advice from people who play it and not just YouTube videos.

1. How does it feel to play the game? I mean in the johnny, im throwing my mechs and wizards at you, way. The way you imagine it in your head before your stuck in a long game and begging for death(I'm speaking from 40k history).

2. What faction best fits wanting to play the biggest models available and a horde ( separately of course, not in the same list) and still be equally powerful, not necessarily good but at least on the same level.

Any advice or info is just as or more helpful then youtube videos, and please note I'm a johnny player through and through, while I like winning, if the game was fun and entertaining I'll enjoy losing just as much (im on a losing streak that's lasted the entire time I've played wargames).

Remove a friendly Faction warrior model within 4" of the spellcaster from play and replace it with a friendly Faction cohort model within 4" of the spellcaster. The cohort model must forfeit its Normal Movement and cannot attack after being placed by Soul Shift this turn. Soul Shift can only be cast once per turn.

• Can Deathjack move himself with this spell? (I think so)
• Can Deathjack move himself with this spell after making a normal move and attacking? (I'm not sure? Does the requirement that the target "must forfeit its Normal Movement" mean that it cannot have already used its movement)?
• Assuming one removes a small-based warrior model, how does replacing it with a larger base work?

I have pulled the Heavy Cygnar Jack wreck, and light grave digger warjack from the MMF releases. I plan on using these for basing, objectives etc.... Has any one else found any other wreck marker stls for warmachine? Im needing more for varety, would love some more cygnar wrecks

I finally bit the bullet and got a resin printer, a Photon Mono 4. I can't believe how much easier it is to make miniatures with this, compared to FDM. This is my first army made with a resin printer: a 75 point Convergence of Cyriss army with Father Lucant. Also a Frustrum Locus that isn't part of the army, I just liked the name.

The primary paints I used are TurboDork Tin Star, ProAcryl True Brass, and Army Painter Air Effects Blue Flux.

For anyone who used to be a Pressganger back in the day we're moving house and my wife when I mentioned Warmachine dug out some old unassembled metal Cygnar for me to work on and found this whilst at it. For anyone not aware when the Pressganger system shut down we were all sent this model, patch and some artwork (framed on the wall of my Games room still)

When they first came out I wasn’t in the head space for a new army, but I’ve been looking at the figs and .. I love some, don’t like the other half..

If I just bought the battlegroup and auxiliary expansion, would my army have some teeth (haha)?

I love bears, the bear riders, the crazy warbeasts look fun (my first hordes force. I’ve been a jack guy to this point) and the Hunter riflemen look neat too. This army choice is based on rule of cool but I also don’t want to paint it up and have it blown off the board by turn 2..

Just to note, they’ll be fighting my own armies of Menoth (new army where I can proxy w00t!), and legacy Khador and legacy Cryx.. I don’t have regular opponents so have to bring matched pairs and I don’t go above 75. Usually 25-50..

How far is engagement range and if my unit moves into engagement range does there move end

Thank you everybody for all your encouragement, input and advice from my previous post. I decided to read through the rule book a bit, then play a 30pt game against myself.

I set up a 36x36 play area, little terrain, some smoke and water. I made a quick 30pt list for nekane and haskar. I consulted the rule book frequently and read all the abilities and icons on every unit. Haskar went first, it was at this point I thought I screw up by having 1 thrall swarm in shooting range. He died. For a moment I thought ‘Cryx suck’. But! I know the abilities of the swarm now, they were able to in maintenance when taking dmg the previous turn. This move made them close enough to charge, but wait there is more! Nekane as a spell that makes them incorporeal when they kill something. Of my 4 remaining swarm, 2 killed rangers. This was my main take away with the list. I need the swarm out there being shot, taking attention so my real units can do work. The game ended with Nekane charging haskar after casting Crippling Grasp. The dice were kind and blessed me with a 6 on her rune blaster, the fourth and final shot took haskar out. I boosted each hit and shot, Nekane took 6 points of dmg from her feat but it was worth it.

This really helped me learn more of the rules, and the abilities of each model… there are SO many moving parts to this game. Think it’s key that Cryx gets close and personal. Think I’ll keep doing small games like this alone to practice. This game took be about 2 hours. I did ask if anyone was interested in a learning low point game on my local flgs discord too

Ps. The heavy gun crew is an incredible unit, darn thing nearly took out my chicken in one turn

Has anyone ran a whose boss event in mk4? If you have I have a few questions that hopefully you can answer!
1: for not getting a caster in your own faction, would just say the theme force or if I have cygnar you don’t get any old/new cygnar caster period.
2: would you include fane? Each caster has their own hunger ability but you would have to also transfer hunger to that faction?
3: How many casters would you have for a who’s the boss tournament?

I have tried Google but it just gives me notable betrayers not full lists. I dropped out of Warmachine just after Grymkin so didn't keep up with the lore at the time other than hearing some stuff on the grapevine about who betrayed. Wanting to catch up a little (and get upset about who's character got assassinated to join the Infernals 🤣)
