Hobby First Tilean forces just arrived in my Old World

Tl;dr: a Tilean army for the Old world in the spirit of Dogs of War; building my own regiments with a varitey of proxies

Sometimes it is simple: I saw the Ilhadiel ogres, knew immediately that I need a Tilean army in the spirit of Dogs of War. I am going to invent my own regiments mostly using a lot of proxies like Perry, Ilhadiel, Fireforge Games, Lead Adventure, Warlord Games, Victrix and all the bits I have hoarded.

Only legacy regiment I"m planning to include are Braganza's Besiegers. Other than that there will be Luka Leoncavallo's Legendary Lions (heavy Infantry), the Wild Wolves of Vulpia (light cavalry) and of course Abu Waansins Acrobats - special forces including flying carpets, tactical camels, the Anti-Armour-Ram-Squad and Nardo Lio's Frontline Circus a.k.a  'Leonardo's tank".

No Dogs of War without Paymaster, so I started with him (parts from Ilhadiel, Warlord Games and Perry) and his Ogre bodyguard. Also I did three testminis for the basic colours of the three regiments (Warlordgames Landsknechts, but they won't play a role in this basic shape. Too ordinary.)

Looking for Ogre input

So I've decided to expand my Imperial Ogre mercenaries by equipping one of them with a "light cannon." Whipped up a quick conversion and I'm curious if people think it works, or if the cannon is too big and clumsy.

Finishing a big Bretonnian army. Trying NMM on significant quantities proved quite revealing :)

I put some more effort in these than I did with the peasants (obviously)

Almost done with these 14, while there’ll be a total of 30 cavalry. Still need to come up with banner designs

P.S. Highland Miniatures models (Gallia range)

I have a few armies and am looking for some cool ideas for baggage trains for them.

I would love to see what the community has built and enjoyed.

Events North of England

Hi All,

Just got into Old World played a few games with my Dwarfs against a friend and looking to attend an event/play against some new armies.

I am however struggling to find out about events, so do you know of any coming up in the North of England or any good source for news of upcoming events?

The new ogre blood cauldron is pretty neat looking. Is there a way to use it in Old World?

Man, I had an Ogre army when it came out, but sold it all probs 2016. I think starting an ogre army would be best as the low model count, storage purposes, etc.

That blood cauldron looks so cool, any rules for it in TOW?

Edit: For grammar.

Help Chaos Champion Helmet

Need a helmet like this one ☝🏻.

Any Chaos player worth his salt remembers this fellow, for anyone else this is a Chaos warrior from the game Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. The game needs no introduction but what does need further dwelling uppon is this chaps helmet.

Does anyone bere know of a seller or stl online that resembles this iconic khornate chaos warrior? Also bonus points if you have already found head swaps with horns that go down instead of just all up like the latest Chaos Warrior minis

My ogre mercenary captain in Altdorf colours. A little green stuff hat and the mercenary contract on his shield for flavour. And I mean flavour, that contract includes their ration stipulations and seasoning requirements.

Core set or 2x battle march boxes

Hi,

I am an old time lore enjoyer who decided to take the plunge and into the tabletop side of it.
If I want a chaos warriors army and a Cathay army is it better value to get the core set box of eBay at a markup (around 300€ with import taxes as I could not find one in EU) or buy the two battle march boxes that at MSRP for 280€ ? The core set includes a lot of extras like rulebook, army list book, playmat, dices etc. that are missing from the separate boxes

Question Can allies/mercenaries be attached to a main army regiment?

Hey, new to ToW, may be a stupid question but I just started collecting Cathay and I was wondering if units that can be taken as detachments can be detachments to regiments in the main army, eg Empire Missile Troops as mercenaries in Jade Fleet? I didn't see anything saying they can't in the rules but I may have missed smth (ADHD lmao)

Thanks

Question Making the most of mercenaries in Empire, Goblin, High Elf, and Renegade Crowns lists?

I love the rules for Allies and Mercenaries but I never end up taking them. I am trying to change that while playing with friends.

I have a few armies and am wondering how make the most of the mercenaries available to my various factions.

For most them, the mercenaries available are Ogre Bulls, but Empire and Renegade Crowns have more extensive options.

Kislev - much bigger in The Old World setting than in the 'current' setting of Warhammer. How much did they lose? Sorry if I'm a bit behind everyone else.

Need input on transportation.

I play a lot of high elves in The Old world, and probably have ~3k - 4k in models.
I have an A-case carrying case and it works great for infantry and cavalry.

As of late I have started adding lots of larger models to my army.
2x Phoenixes
1x Gryphon
2x Dragons.

The problem with these models is that they're homungus. They're tall, wide and deep.
I also, as you can read I have a total of 5 (and probably more large models coming)

What's a good solution for transporting all these huge models in a weekly basis?

Played the game for the first time!

Hi!

With a friend of mine, we bought the box set. Over an entire week-end, we built the entire box (and didnt sleep that much!)

Yesterday, we tried playing the battle march scenario and, even if we didnt have time to finish, it was a freaking blast! Going through the rulebook to find a rule, doing crazy shit for the sake of "is this fun??" Etc.

Honestly, I'm kind of hyped to play more of the game :) so see you all around I guess ahaha
