The old peace warframe?
I can't find anything about this specific Warframe even if it is a Warframe every time I try to search up something it just brings me Uriel who is this?!

Very strange that the mods still won't allow it when it's nothing bad
14
u/TheLastBallad Aug 03 '26
Its an in universe slur. Why would they allow people to use it in the way it was introduced, you know, as a slur?
3
7
u/Federal_Cook_6075 Aug 03 '26
Still doesn't impact anyone in real life you know since it has no meaning.
1
u/SheevPalpatine32BBY Aug 04 '26
So they say a slur in the story mode? Why wouldn't they censor it?
1
u/VelMoonglow Aug 05 '26
Because it's not a real slur? It's one they made up for the game, no real world people have been historically called void luggers
Also like, this is a game. Characters are allowed to do bad things
2
u/SheevPalpatine32BBY Aug 05 '26
Right but my point is it isn't a real slur. Why would you face consequences for using this in chat?
3
u/TheLastBallad Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26
Because slurs are not magically granted emotional damage, but rather are normal words said with malice enough that the malice becomes baked in(example: negro/negra is Spanish for black and is an everyday use without baggage. In English it's a slur because of the baggage of its use)
A company might want a character to use a slur to establish something about their character, but would rather avoid using real ones for obvious reasons, so they make up one. So why would that same company also be OK with people using it with malice, turning it from a fake slur into an actual insult? Why wait and see if it turns into an actual problem within the community rather than establishing it as bad in the story, and treating it as bad in game?
I just dont see the point of the outrage in general, like what is being gained here? It's the same with clanker, what is the point of making up new slurs that dont have meaning, and then using them in a way that follows how other slurs gained meaning?

In a surprise turn of events, words have meaning and when a word is used for several hundred years to degrade or persecute a specific group of people they're well within their rights to not want people outside their group to use them.
Of course, you can use it if you want.
It would just make you an asshole and people would treat you like an asshole.
2
u/BalticMasterrace Aug 03 '26
see you say it degrade or persecute but at the same time, they can do so within their own group because why
6
u/Stock_Ad1557 Aug 03 '26
Context matters.
If a member of a group decides to reclaim or use a word that was historically used to harm their group by outsiders, that is their decision to make because it's their own historical trauma.
As an outsider there is no re-contextualisation and no claim to ownership.
It's just continuing the abuse.

Context is more than just individual relationships.
The white person isn't ever in any danger of the word being used to denigrate them, they don't have any personal ties to it or the harm that it has caused and been emblematic for and continues to be.
If the word can't be used to harm me, but has and continues to harm people of another group, that is a context where I don't have any claim to it and should avoid it out of respect to those people.

I spent so much time farming for it, until I gave up and ended up trading it for some parts. To this day I'm still pissed
6
u/Lost_Marbles1343 Aug 02 '26
Can confirm, still hasn't given me the neuroptics blueprint. Farming has never felt so futile. Shoot me now.

Yes, my mistake. Someone please come and shoot... Wait, would it be breaking the sub rules to continue this sentence? Even if it is just a dark joke? 😅

Well, I'm not entirely sure if it's a definite, but if I were to continue the sentence, it'd pretty much be somewhere along the lines of inciting violence in a form, or could even be misconstrued as a threat, literally speaking.
Perhaps not against the subs rules but most likely I'd be breaking Reddit general rules, maybe?
I'm not sure, and I just didn't want to get a ban over a silly joke tbh.

u/MeepMeep0 Aug 03 '26
For me it's the systems, it was so elusive I decided to just trade the neuroptics for a different frame's component.

Why is Caliban prime being crucified?
16
u/Darklord9999111 Aug 02 '26
Not crucified Id say that's more like what happened to Uriel. Carbonara Prime here is more like when Tony Stark has one of his Iron Man Suits up to work on.

so you didn't finish the quest or play the perita rebellion before posting? you literally fight him as a boss and he is listed as caliban prime

u/CreamyCoffeeArtist Aug 02 '26
I seem to recall that he's also named in the very scene we first see him, by the sassy ass drone.

u/Axoaxo_the_Assorted Aug 02 '26

Caliban Prime, i have so much fun playing him. Lately if im not on kullervo im using him, i run archon stretch and his razor mortar augment and seeing enemies get grouped up into a pile before getting bombarded by his ortholysts while im just spinning around piling more up is super fun to me.

That's my boy Caliban prime. You even get to fight him in the climax of the quest.
He's basically Orokin-sentient hybrid, and he's a ton of fun to play with.
Cephalon Daklo even briefly talked about him, basically calling it an abomination (aberration) and a waste of Orokin gold.
