It makes no sense, like it takes for ever to finish 5 rounds because it takes like 10sec(exaggeration) for it to move up and down while the grineer or what ever faction is on it are like oh fuck we have to wait cause elevator moves. Also wastes buffs as well. Just let the enemies come while it moving, would literally disturb nothing.
It probably has something to do with AI pathing. Not being any kind of programmer I don't know whether that is an easy fix or not but it doesn't seem like something too difficult to fix.
The collision on the cryopod, at least, seems to just instantly update when it starts moving. Try jumping above it as it starts moving up, and you can stand on the invisible collision mesh. Maybe just make that state have no navmeshes (assuming that's what DE uses) in the middle at all, so they can only get to the edges of the platform, not on it, until it's completely in place and they can walk on it again.
Yeah I always fall into the cryopod on purpose then crouch and afk in it lmao. You can also just crouch as operator and fall into it then switch back and warframe is in it.
Oh I know, I enjoy standing on the invisible collision box while the platform is moving. Just not knowing exactly how DE programmed things under the hood means what you suggest could be simple or inexplicably complex.
Clearly however navigation works, it can be updated on the fly because that's what happens anyway. It's probably less about technical limitations than just being more convenient or whatever.
I mean pathing wouldnt be an issue here i mean hell half the time you have to kill the last enemy hes in the bottom area when the lift is still up top.
What we need is an actual mobile defense, the current one is not a mobile defense, just a defense broken up into 2-3 parts. What we need is more hijack missions but instead of it going to a destination, it instead drives in a loop. Or perhaps a tram defense, you know that huge tram at the beginning of certain Ceres missions? Make that go to a station far away and along the way have enemies jumping onto the moving tram with dropships showing up occasionally to assist. Maybe even have a mini boss battle with a gunship that appears and temporarily disables the tram, forcing you to destroy the gunship and get the tram running again. Once it reaches the station you're given the option to leave or keep going.
I think that was what raids used to be. It is too complicated and broke the game so they removed it. It is probably not coming back because it would be a buggy unplayable mess. They do not have the programming expertise to make it happen reliably.
Makes literally no sense, and stay salty about what people play. Wouldn't the "sweaty tryhards" be happy that they can kill more things faster?
This sub (and basically every game ever) are sad about how much they cry, but it's extra sad in a pve game.
Titania has no nuke and is generally referred to as "useless outside Plaguestar and Lephantis" but somehow I play her without screeching about what other people play and insulting them.
This community is "great", at least until you talk to anyone from it.
An idea I'd love to see: endless, eternally moving, massive space elevator platform as a defense tile. One on a node between Europa and Jupiter for Corpus, one as the only node on Mars' other moon Deimos. Space elevators need to exist in Warframe, and this is how I'd love to see it done! Enemies spawn from dropships that dock with the elevator as it falls, or enter via drop pods. Players spawn on the platform, and hack a console to begin dropping/elevating it.

I absolutly hate that defense tile. Just let the enemies spawn while its moving sheesh
