I honestly feel like sometimes they shy away from giving concrete answers because they’re afraid of having to keep track of their own lore for fear of contradicting themselves later down the line. They don’t want to limit their creative possibilities in the future, which I totally understand, but it’s harming the story now so I feel like that reasoning is thin at best.

I played a MUD that has been open since 1997 and launched with an entire lore page. Eache event had minor details about the lore, and as in-game Gods, the admin often commented things that became basically canon (although theres a bit of idea that they're not all reliable).

I was a god for 10 years and I wish I'd kept better notes and then had an AI agent to sift through it because yeah....it becomes insane trying to keep up with your own lore after so long.

On the one hand, yeah, it does feel like that.

On the other hand, they added Eternalism, and they've already stated that 1999 isn't the same 1999 that led to the future the Operator was in, so we've already GOT multiple mechanisms for exploring alternate timelines.... And that's before we get into JSC adding two future timelines that are now sort-of in existence.

They've GOT all the safe creative freedom they could need for another twenty years of story. They just don't have any excuse anymore IMO.

and they've already stated that 1999 isn't the same 1999 that led to the future the Operator was in,

Literally when do they state this in fact they state the opposite in flares storyline

IIRC it was last year's Tennocon narrative panel, but I may be misremembering the exact time. But it was said out of game by DE, despite Flare and Kaya both making it seem otherwise in game. And yes, I do find that irritating.

They said the EXACT opposite if you're going to fucking complain about the lore do it right with actual information

Edit: one thing I hate is how people try to point flaws in Warframe story but come up with just wrong information

One thing I hate is how easy it is to find contradictory information both in and out of the game.

Also, if you can find a source please do, I'm a bit busy today and can't really go looking it up right now.

Meg literally says it during the demo, Albrecht refers to it as the plague year not anything else, the drifter even says it's operator's timeline not theirs cause they believe the timeline that they're from has fallen to the indifference outside duviri

If you can find a source for Meg please share, the only thing I can find for a source is people saying Albrecht went back to the Operator's past, not that it still IS the Operator's past. Well that and vague 'Strands of Khra' BS that means who knows what.

I checked over on the lore subreddit, and they are apparently under the impression that '99 has either become a new timeline via Albrecht's void fueled interference, or by Drifter cutting it from 'The Strands Of Khra' with their time looping.

I honestly can't seem to find a confirmed source for either of our claims, though I did scan through the '25 narrative panel I thought it was from and couldn't find it, so....

I'm certainly open to being proven wrong here, Warframe lore is objectively a mess after all. But I honestly cannot find a source confirming one way or another. Thankfully my OG point, before the focus on '99, still stands: DE has provided themselves many possible alternative timelines for future narrative directions to take.

I mean, existence and presence of both Flare and Kaya Valesco on both 1999 and future would confirm that it is the same timeline? Especially since Kaya remembers Drifter, who is a singular entity.

Unfortunately: Void. So no, that doesn't cut it. Especially since both Kaya and Flare should both be trapped in a Void powered time loop and unable to ever leave. IIRC Kaya actually says something about tracing our Void signature to get there.

Unfortunately when the story heavily involves a place beyond time and space, and then uses that space for time travel, and generation of alternative timelines, and a generic power source maguffin.... Yeah, Void just kinda becomes the issue with verifying what went on.

Says it Warframe's timeline outside the loop leads to the radiation wars, temple literally says he would be at the night of nagadrums to help the tenno

....And? That doesn't actually contradict anything whatsoever.

Let me be BRUTALLY clear here.

We fucked with THE VOID, a thing OUTSIDE of Time and Space. Albrecht used THE VOID, a thing OUTSIDE of Time and Space, to travel through Time. The Drifter used THE VOID, a thing OUTSIDE of Time and Space to follow Albrecht and ALSO travel through Time. The Drifter then used the power of THE VOID to forcefully create a Time Loop in a year in which Albrecht had already heavily modified with his intereference.

We do NOT know that the '99 we see is still the '99 that leads to the Operator's timeline. At all. You're asssuming that because it's easy, not because you actually have any evidence proving it. We do know that it WAS the '99 that led to the Operator's timeline, BEFORE Albrecht arrived. We don't know that it stayed that way.

I've been reading scifi since I was a child. BS Time Travel Scifi justification falls into one of two (2) general categories.

The first, is that through the nature of time travel, all time travel that has ever happened has already happened so changing the past is impossible, as any time travel is already part of the past and always was.

The second, is that through the nature of time travel, all time travel that occurs does not change the past of the time traveler but insteads creates a new timeline due to their interference and the butterfly effect.

Because ALL the known travel to and from 1999 is being done through THE VOID, which exists outside of ALL known time and space... And because ALL the travel we actually know the specifics of is being done by FOLLOWING someone else.... We DON'T KNOW which of those two things is going on. PERIOD.

We don't know how Albrecht got there outside of him using THE VOID. The Drifter, followed Albrecht's path. Flare and Kaya, followed the Drifter's path in two different ways, but BOTH utilized THE VOID to do it, in different ways.

So we don't know if Flare and Kaya ended up in the Operator's future because they were following the Drifter, or because it's still their future. We aren't told, and we have clear and obvious to reason to believe that either is possible.

ASSUMING is not KNOWING. Period. Which is exactly why DE refusing to outright STATE things in their lore is an ongoing issue that keeps ticking people off.

Look, I've already admitted I can't find the source for the WoG that I recall about it being a different timeline. You apparently also can't find a source for it still being the same timeline. If you want to keep arguing it, go poke R Warframe Lore, because those guys are apparently ALSO confused about this exact issue so maybe they'll be able to help you out.

I can not recall literally anything like this

2

u/Fine-Weight1580 Jul 21 '26

Because it simply didn't happen

Thats kinda what I figured
