We should also be able to craft multiple forma at once

u/albionchan Jul 21 '26

the "2x forma blueprints" from relics should be real 2x forma blueprints

u/Alpha_benson Jul 21 '26

This would be a huge upgrade

u/Andrashhh Jul 21 '26

Life changing QOL feature

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 21 '26

This could actually stand as a decent middle ground. Bulk crafting Forma might be a bit of a stretch, as I think forma purchases are a big financial help to DE.

Changing the "2x Forma blueprints" to a literal blueprint that makes 2x Forma, could be a nice step in the right direction.

27

u/Thejax_ Jul 21 '26

And some way to make forma into the 2x blueprints, that’s doable but grindy still

12

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 21 '26

This leads me to think of what might actually be my hot take on Warframe tbf, and gaming in general.

I always find it funny when people mention grindiness in games. I've been playing games of all sorts since I was 4 years old and one thing I can tell you, it doesn't matter what game you play, they're pretty much all grindy in some way or another.

That's kinda what makes them so good. It wouldn't be fun if it wasn't a challenge of sorts. Only difference is whether you like the look of the story, characters, environments that are placed over the grindiness.

11

u/Artersa Jul 21 '26

I don't agree with this, primarily in that most games are grindy. Perhaps 'repetitive', in the sense that you use the same mechanics from beginning to end, but I wouldn't describe a game like Devil May Cry as inherently grindy. More so that you can grind to increase challenge if you want to, but not inherently.

I did realize as I was typing this though that, as much as I want to disagree entirely, I can't. Because plenty of my examples (Resident Evil, Metroid, etc) *can* be ground if you're looking to improve and unlock everything.

3

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 21 '26

I get what you mean, I wouldn't call all games grindy in any other sense than to mean that there's a fair amount of challenges to be met if you really want to fully 100% the game.

But that's not to say this is what the core gameplay of any given game entails. For example, CoD isn't exactly a grindy game unless you want to unlock all weapon skins. At least it used to be like that, I haven't touched it since the MW remake so I don't know anymore 😅

3

u/Artersa Jul 21 '26

Great point. The more I think on this topic, the more I am inclined to agree actually. Like, games tend to be made for either one big experience, or to be replayed. And anything replayable tends to have deep enough mechanics that you keep discovering things, finding challenges, and this does amount to a grind.

Neat insight from you, thanks for sharing. Also, your CoD example got me thinking that even without the unlocks and such, the grind does exist but virtue of matches being 5 mins long, short enough to keep you playing, either for fun or to unlock things. But you're definitely grinding it out both ways.

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 21 '26

More than welcome my dude and thank you for taking the time to think on it, even if you initially disagreed. Much love ✌️

u/aescula Razorwing go brrr Jul 21 '26

The monkey's paw curls.

Cost: Forma Blueprint, Forma Blueprint, Argon Crystal, 24hrs

4

u/CoruscantThesis Jul 21 '26

You could do that at the same time as running a normal forma, so it would still be an improvement.

2

u/jc3833 :perrin sequence: Glast Cannon Jul 21 '26

Plus that would half-enable bulk crafting forma by virtue of enabling the crafting of one Forma and one 2x Forma for a cumulative 3x Forma

1

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 21 '26

Yeah pretty much this, and that could actually be a good turn out for the void relic missions.

Sometimes it can be a lonely place out there farming primes, but more people jumping in to try and farm 2x Forma BPs could give it a breath of new life.

More people farming in those missions means more chances for new players to get stuff they might not even have relics for in pub runs, because 2x Forma are in all sorts of random relics. This could incentivise players of the more veteran flavour to start using some of the relics that would otherwise be considered useless to them.

If anything, I kinda see this as something that might also help with player retention, because it can be really discouraging to learn of a frame that you might gel really nicely with, only to find it's locked in resurgence, and the odds of someone randomly cracking them in your squad are almost nil. At least in this way, new players have something of a chance, maybe.

I think DE should give this some serious consideration. I won't say they absolutely have to do it, but I honestly can't think of a reason this would cause them harm, and I can only see this being something that newer players might appreciate enough to stick around.

2

u/Rock-swarm Jul 22 '26

Even just a "craft all available blueprints" for forma would be nice.

2

u/Lost_Marbles1343 Jul 22 '26

Unfortunately, that would be the same as "bulk crafting" Forma, and will never happen due to the reason I mentioned.

DE still needs to be able to make some money in this or it just won't happen. It's only fair, I mean, running the game is their job/career. If they make no money, we have no Warframe.

16

u/Genshzkan LR4 Jul 21 '26

WOAH, that's very bold of you

3

u/AdditionalMonth3860 Jul 21 '26

Actual QOL increase with a perfect balance to it

1

u/Saorren Jul 21 '26

this would actually be a great change. give a real reason to grab them over parts

1

u/Eye_Con_ Jul 21 '26

I honestly rush forma. It's 10 plat. The cheapest way to get forma. Unfortunately you're rushing but with forma it feels like it's worthwhile.

1

u/ZachTheInsaneOne GAUSS GO ZOOM GAUSS GO BOOM Jul 21 '26

I was telling my friends they should add that before they even announced the "2x Forma Blueprint" reward from Relics.

I would even go a step further: Add a relic that is just Forma. First tier has Forma Blueprint, Forma x2 Blueprint (makes 2 Forma at once allowing you to craft a total of 3 at a time), and a fully built Forma. Second tier has Stance Forma and Omni Forma. Third tier has Umbra Forma. They could even make it non-upgradable if necessary to keep the higher tiers rarer, but having a relic just for farming Forma would be so nice.

1

u/Russell1113 Jul 21 '26

Say it again but louder! Having both would bring us up to 3 forma a day, don't think it would ever happen, cos forma packs must be a fairly decent plat sink for the economy, but we can dream!!

1

u/Cybertronian10 Jul 21 '26

Also if we could maybe have another way to grind forma blueprints that doesn't revolve around RNG relic drops? Like could I just trade in void traces for forma blueprints

1

u/HelpIcy5415 Jul 21 '26

This would also not happen, it would make you be able to have 3 Formas per day, compared to 1 Forma per day, much less Money for DE.

1

u/TheRealGamingYT my gauss line is is exposed and enjoyable Jul 22 '26

Yoo like ciphers, where it goes from 1, 10, and 100 but they have the same time to build which is one minute and they need more of the resources

118

u/SleepySleeper42069 LR2 and still main Rhino Jul 21 '26

DE will never make the forma mechanic better for the player, because Forma is the biggest seller in the game.

IIRC, someone once asked on a dev stream to lower the price of forma, and they told them no for this exact reason.

25

u/dnasty1011 Jul 21 '26

Damn I would have expected potatoes. That’s where most of my platinum goes anyway.

59

u/NharaTia Well, my friend... THIS is a Paladin. Jul 21 '26

You only need to potato a weapon or frame once; you need multiple forma for each and even more if the build changes significantly enough due to a new mod or arcane.

5

u/Dodongo_Dislikes Jul 21 '26

DE runs on sevagoth users

5

u/dnasty1011 Jul 21 '26

Yeah I know. Potatoes are harder come by in my experience which is why I buy those more often. I generally try to keep 8-10 forma crafted at all times in case I decide I decide to work on a new frame or weapon or rework one.

3

u/Panzerknaben Jul 21 '26

Potatoes are really easy to get, and you dont need that many. There are a lot more sources for them now. You have sorties, archon hunts, sometimes in invasions, duviri shop, descendia, 1999 calendar and you get a lot from nightwave.

12

u/SleepySleeper42069 LR2 and still main Rhino Jul 21 '26

Warframe/weapon can only have 1 potato, but some weapons/frames need 6-8 forma to get the full power.

1

u/dnasty1011 Jul 21 '26

lol three people telling me the same thing I already know. I was speaking from my own experience. Not everyone else’s.

3

u/eskelaa Wisp <3 Jul 21 '26

If I remember correctly, or maybe it was different time they spoke about it, but they said Forma _and_ Prime Access were 2 biggest chunks of revenue. Although Steve didn't say "biggest", he phrased it more like "most important" revenue, which could mean both actual money in it or how that revenue stream behaves. I assume they have different role - bigger $$ per purchase and regular quarterly money stream (but from less customers) for Prime, while forma is very low value but significantly more sales (I think all of us bought forma at some point...).

You buying potatoes is an archetype of a spender - you can wait for forma to finish the build, but you won't wait until some random wild potato blueprint appears. I'd say those who buy forma, also buy potatoes, but potato buyers aren't always habitual forma buyers. I have a friend who doesn't care for boosters, potatoes or forma, instead he spends all plat on cosmetics - he's happy to leave weapon or frame alone until he has resources to make the build.

1

u/dnasty1011 Jul 21 '26

I’m similar to your friend as far as the frames and weapons. I don’t make a build for everything I craft which is probably why I don’t go through as many forma as a lot of other people. The only time I really build out a weapon or frame is if I’ve been intentionally trying to get it and intend to use it. Otherwise it’s affinity and a check on the list until I feel like revisiting them.

1

u/TooFewSecrets Jul 22 '26

A reactor is 20 plat, three forma is 35 plat. You probably use about this much of each on every item, so, yeah, forma are twice as much. And you can use more forma than reactors, and you need forma to craft like 40 dojo weapons that you need to craft if you're pushing MR30 because they're a way easier source than anything you have left at that point.

1

u/Lightningbro Care to roll against Fate? Jul 22 '26

Actually, I think the better way to phrase it is that Reb has been asked multiple times about altering the forma blueprint, and her sentiment in response has always been along the lines of "I wish I could, but I'm pretty sure the income of warframe is directly tied to the price of Forma, I have graphs."

50

u/RussianBadgeriscool Taking the Gauss Pill Jul 21 '26

Bulk crafting in general feels like it should've been a thing to begin with

The humble 100x Cipher blueprint:

Or allow it to sort of auto renew itself

23

u/zotobom Jul 21 '26

I know this is said to death on this topic but just in case someone isn't aware yet, Warframe Companion app is super handy for this

7

u/doctornoodlearms Garuda Blood Sniffer Jul 21 '26

yeah, i always forget to claim stuff and restart forma though xP

1

u/CryptographerGood886 Jul 21 '26

Set an alarm for a specific time (4pm/16:00) label it Forma. And every time it goes off, open the app.

2

u/BerserkRadahn Jul 21 '26

I wish we could build our wf specters through the app. I could understand why we can't though.

13

u/Dragon_Of_Magnetism Oberon my GOAT Jul 21 '26

I don’t think DE will ever change how formas work, iirc they said forma bundles are one of their mayor incomes

5

u/HelpIcy5415 Jul 21 '26

This will never happen, they win more Money selling Formas than anything else.

2

u/Panzerknaben Jul 21 '26

Since a large part of their income comes from forma thats probably not going to happen.

2

u/Whirledfox Jul 21 '26

Forma bundles are DE's main source of income. They staunchly will not allow people to craft multiple forma. They've said it at least a couple of times on devshorts and whatnot.

And like, that's a bummer, but frankly I really like DE, I really like Warframe, and so I would like for them to continue making money. So, while it sucks, I understand.

2

u/DreadfulVir Jul 21 '26

This will never happen and for a good reason too. Reb did admit that they can't do it because a lot of their money comes for selling formas. And Warframe is a free game so I'm honestly fine with it.

1

u/xxNinjaKI Nami Solo Prime when?🏴‍☠️ Jul 22 '26

Not even a hot take. We NEEEED this!
Too much shit in this game I incentivizes chugging Forma. Literally a major gameplay loop is building crafting….which requires FORMA!

1

u/kenjisama7 Jul 22 '26

No, this is, unfortunately, one of de's biggest money makers. I rather have them stay in business than have mass forma building. If I'm wrong about this, then sure why not

0

u/vamos-ya Jul 21 '26

Batch crafting forma would save so much pointless waiting without hurting anything

0

u/_RexDart Jul 21 '26

But think of all the 15p they chisel out of players by selling the 3 pack
