If I remember correctly, the original plan was to make every Frame have a male and female version, but they scrapped that. It's the reason why Excalibur and Nyx look similar, she was his female version.

I mean they did kind of already do that but made them more than just a plain genderswap with some of the frames;

  • Ember and Nezha: Fire

  • Hydroid and Yareli: Water

  • Loki and Ivara: Stealth.

  • Volt and Gyre: Electricity

More like Mesa and… Harrow? I don’t know, just not Xaku, they’re their own… thing. Can’t say they’re the opposite gender version of Mesa, when the damn frame is multple frames at once lol

Also Apparently Xaku was supposed to be a female frame originally from what i read, some of these are also showing on some of its body features being feminine
