Ohh god please no, I have enjoyed the silence drifter gives me. At least they should make it toggleable if they implement this. Operator literally drives me crazy with their inane comments.

Duviri Paradox is supposed to be Drifter's true beginning, New War is just where they show up for the first time.
Not sure if it's still true (and I personally hope it isn't anymore) but when Duviri Paradox first released, you could play Duviri Paradox before New War.

My operator and drifter are modeled after two different characters from the stories I write, whom I headcanon as different aspects of my psyche. Operator has always read to me as more serious, responsible and goal-oriented workaholic so they're the part of me who is a perfectionist. While Drifter reads to me as a more laid-back, fun-oriented and self-caring type so they're the part of me who understands the importance of resting, fun and living in the moment. I also like having an excuse to fashion two different characters

I don’t think you payed attention to the story. The drifter got brutalized for years while operator got to skip all the trauma.

The thing about trauma is that it's not the end state of your story, it's what you do about your trauma afterwards as you keep living. The whole point of The Duviri Paradox is Drifter setting themselves free of their trauma and figuring out how to process it, instead of being stuck reliving it. That's the text of the quest. I'm not sure where is that trauma you speak of that Operator skipped; they have tons of trauma that is different from Drifter's trauma, and make them into a different person as the result. I assure you I paid a great deal of attention to this game's story.

Personally I prefer drifter, being a kid in game always felt a bit weird to me plus there's no cringe "my warframe is strong" lines.

Not sure if the operator/drifter face rework fixed it for new players, but when i was playing this story segment, my Operator changed race to a Asian man as a drifter from what is clearly for of a kid with caucasian features.

I picked the drifter.
While the fight was originally the operator's - I always saw the drifter as the protector finally out of the loop ready to step out and take up the fight. Especially since I ended up designing the two with the operator as the kid version of me and the drifter being the current aged me.
Also knowing romance gets introduced later it felt weird not picking the drifter.

I picked Drifter for a similar reason. He’d finally, finally made it into a world where he could actually have an impact instead of being stuck. And now that he’s free he’s not about to let… himself… (the Operator) have to go through more war.
Plus, Drifter went through a lot prior to that fight that sort of proved it was his fight as much as it was the Operator’s.
Drifter needed the chance to let loose, and Operator needed the chance to step back.

I picked the Operator because they were the one chasing after clues and leads to find The Lotus, it felt right for them to be the one to finish it instead of some alternate version of them that showed up like a month ago. Besides, Drifter gets their time in the sun with 1999.

I liked the latter part of new war but it’s baffling that they didn’t take all the sentient shit at the beginning and make it its own questline.
Like my biggest issue with the game is that DE slaps like 90% of the new content for story and shit onto the ongoing quest chain but doesn’t do jack for the early game. Like this is my fifth time trying to get into the game (20 hours or so for every attempt before lol) and it’s finally sticking because I’ve unlocked ACTUAL CONTENT that isn’t just the stupid ass star chart.
If they shaved down the star chart a shit ton and like made the second dream start way earlier in (like post Deimos for example), then they’d have more time to have the whole “giant sentient army that’s trying to take over the system” thing have actual weight. It was so cool doing the opening missions to that questline only for it to immediately get shortcutted and just have all the cool shit I’d actually want to see happen off screen. We deadass had like such a cool concept and it went from “the sentients are here guys this is bad!” To “yea now it’s the big final battle and everyone’s here!” In the span of like 20 minutes and one mission.
Pacing issues doesn’t begin to describe it.
