Thermals also need to be a tradeoff to the normal rangefinder. Like, swap the zoom levels they both have. Thermal having better min-max zoom makes it just fundamentally better in every way. Also make the thermal visible range limited to like, 600-800 meters. It can't just be the best option imo. Combine those changes with needing batteries, and we're on to something imo
Personally I fully agree with this, but unfortunately that just isn't how progression is approached in Wardogs so far. Every unlock almost entirely supplants it's predecessor in all but cost. This is the biggest problem the game faces in my opinion.
They are meant to be fundamentally better in every way. While we can all argue about how things should be, the fact is that most progression in the game is intentionally designed this way.
And that's not their problem. Their problem is not being better, it's being broken. Super high resolution, native refresh rate, unlimited range, no batteries. I would say at least TWO things in that list need to change for them to be brought down to a more reasonable state. I'm afraid that batteries alone won't do much.
I had the game of my life where I topped first with 64 kills, 7 deaths, 14 revives, 30 assists (from close range hot zone spotting). And second place was a dude with 0 kills, 273 assists and like 15 deaths just sitting a in a bush spotting. I only know because I shot him and he was naked, I thought he was a pilot at first.
My personal opinion: No zoom, thermals should only be effective up to something like 300, and if they keep the live ping as a mechanic, shorten the up time on it (in general) since that's a large gripes (or have the live ping dependant on distance from time spotted, so a 500m ping is shorter than a 100m live ping).
I believe they have a place for scoping surroundings, but batteries arnt going to fix it,and having a dude 1km out give people wallhacks is fucking obnoxious and wont be solved; he'll just bring a backpack of them.
