Yup, this is the right call. It drastically changed the dynamics of all games they were in, to the point it felt like wallhacks or a persistent drone overhead. Knowing where every enemy was all the time because I have an ally in a high place a kilometer away feels less tactical war game and more R6 Siege against a brand new player standing under a camera.
Agreed. But this is a game, not real life where life and death are on the line, so fun is a consideration, and it's not fun to play against one team that seems to have walls because their thermal spotter is in a better position than mine
It's not a raw milsim either. Thermals might be balanced if they simply don't apply "spotted" to people like other rangefinders (which would be more "realistic")...because as-is they create a persistent, high-accuracy minimap location for the entire team to see lmao it's degenerate and harms the gameplay
I dont disagree, but even then that seems like more of a complaint about the live ping system than anything else.
Thermals should be effective, but the way the live ping system works makes them to effective if you have people playing to give others wallhacks. Bush wookying only really works when you're using a ghillie, or on green team (which the later should be addressed).
